I'm sure you're right but the epic fail on their part if the SEC did turn them down in the end would be......well......epic.
Epic fail here is the fact that SEC leadership is meeting tomorrow to vote on making the A&M invite official. A&M's Board of Regents is meeting Monday to accept.

Add A&M + FSU. Eliminate divisions. Five permanent rivals, three rotating games. Top two duke it out in Atlanta.
That doesnt follow the NCAA conference championship guidelines that have to be followed. There has to be 2 divisions and a champion from each division is represented in the championship game.

I want OU.
Go ahead and go for Texas' jugular.
Pretty much diffuse Texas TV attravetness between Houston and dallas to half of its current degree.

Despite what Travis says (and what UF will say), I still think it will end up being TexasA&M+Florida State.
I don't see how any SEC school will be able to say no to a 100% increase in TV revenue from $17mil to the rumored $34mil.

We can still vote no.

Hell no. Just for the fact that an undefeated SEC champion would be rarer than finding a fluid coherent thought in ATPB.

I don't mind aTm coming in honestly, I just don't want FSU in the SEC. It's for purely selfish reasons too, they're my out of conference team and I don't want them playing AU

Take it FWIW, but Clay Travis had an article today basically saying that despite the fact only a simple majority of SEC schools would have to vote in a new school, Slive wants a unanimous vote to bring in a new school.
If that is indeed true, then Clemson and Florida State are indeed out of consideration.
And VaTech's AD took them out of the picture today as well.
What's left? West Virginia/NCState/Missouri
I thought that it took a vote of nine out of the 12 member schools to accept a new member. Doesn't really matter. I have also heard that the reason the ACC is off the table is that the SEC East schools are banding together to block it. God I hope this doesn't mean that we wind up with Choklahoma. The thoughts of that fanbase makes me sick to my stomach.

Pick a team and then hate everyone else. That should fix your dilemma.

From a football-standpoint, I would prefer either FSU or Clemson (they both fit in perfectly with the SEC). From a "good for the conference" standpoint, I would like the SEC to expand into North Carolina somehow (although that is going to be very difficult).

I'd buy lifetime 50 yardline tickets to that shite.

This is the driving force. You look at these #'s and you add one top ten and increase exposure in 2 others.

quote:I thought of that, but their next traditional rival on the list is Tennessee. After that, there's nobody they have a traditional game with. I could give Tennessee to Auburn and Florida State to Arkansas, and that would fit, but I don't think that makes it any better or easier for anybody.
Interesting.....But man, Auburn would have it tough with that schedule.

We use to play them every year.

what does adding Fstate do for the SEC conference?

Might not be that hard for NC State. I think that they would be some interest there.
