I always said Baylor would need to be guaranteed a BCS conference to land in before A&M and Texas could separate from Baylor. I feel vindicated.
You really think OU is going to stick around? You think someone else is want to join the Big 12 seeing this Baylor crap? Its over DD, A&M will be in the SEC sooner or later.
Or Maybe Baylor can rally they teams they fricked over before and rebuild the SWC

Never. The conference was about them in the SWC as well.
If they are so adamant on not sharing, just go indy. I don't get why they wouldn't want to anyways. Hell, they have the money and support.

So, the SEC gave the Big 12 a way out as long as they all vote against. We should call the Big 12 schools in favor of TAMU staying in the Big 12.
One of two things are going to happen
1. The Big 12 will collapse thus giving TAMU a way to go to the SEC
2. Several member schools will oppose the move thus making TAMU stay put
Slive is smart and has a way out, this is not going to be simple and the Big 12 is gonna fight to save their league.

I hope so. And if they were smart, they'd just tell UT to leave and go after another school. Everyone would be better for it.

SEC wants us. Just Baylor is being a bitch. They'll stand down eventually. They are trying to show they're importance/power and are just looking petty

Statement from Dr. Bernie Machen, Chair, Southeastern Conference Presidents and Chancellors: After receiving unanimous written assurance from the Big 12 on September 2 that the Southeastern Conference was free to accept Texas A&M to join as a new member, the presidents and chancellors of the SEC met last night with the intention of accepting the application of Texas A&M to be the newest member of the SEC. We were notified yesterday afternoon that at least one Big 12 institution had withdrawn its previous consent and was considering legal action. The SEC has stated that to consider an institution for membership, there must be no contractual hindrances to its departure. The SEC voted unanimously to accept Texas A&M University as a member upon receiving acceptable reconfirmation that the Big 12 and its members have reaffirmed the letter dated September 2, 2011.

well, according to Dr. Drunk Baylor has this incredible amount of power over everyone...I'm going to say that Baylor refuses to let UT do anything w/o their approval?
quoted the wrong person.

yep a lot of the movers and shakers in Central Texas went to Baylor. They are a Baptist college and have a mutual interest in its success.

Cecil Hurt tweet : "At what point does Baylor resort to standing in rain outside Kyle Field with a boombox playing Peter Gabriel songs?"

clearly a panic move by Baylor, they know they are done and are fighting. I suspect OU is a lot closer to bolting than we realize. BU's only chance was for the Big 12 to stay together, there is no way it will survive.

Really?? Is this something new? BU sure as frick has not had ANY success since joining the Big 12. GFTO

because there are more benefits to being in a conference, they get 15M for the LHN, but 20M or so from the other TV deals. They could not get that on their own. I think ND gets something like 8-10 from NBC. Also in a conference there are 2 ways to get to a BCS bowl, win the conference (admitedly a rare occurance at UT) or an at large. UT wants to have its cake and eat it to.

A&M is already out of the Big XII. We aren't going back. Baylor isn't saving shite.
And OU is 100% leaving. So all this is doing is screwing Baylor over and pissing off a lot of people

I am amazed at how anyone thinks Baylor can actually control this entire thing. they can delay and try to position themselves to gain something-that is it. It's baylor for fricks sake.

I'm not saying that, Slive said that....hence the condition.

I agree. This is a desperate act but it is funny. It is funny to see the process drag on for aggie. It is funny to watch Baylor fight the unwinable fight.
The real question is......what does A&M give or do for Baylor to get them to sign? A bunch of $? That plus the exit fee means it will be a long, long time until aggie comes close to breaking even on this move.

The cutest part of this whole thread is that you think Baylor will hold the Big 12 together through some force of will.
Hot tip: This is pure panic and the SS Big 9 has already struck the iceberg

Exit fees? To whom? OU and OSU are bolting to pac12. There will be no exit fees

MAJOR spin doctoring there, drunk. Slive did not say that Baylor has power over everyone. YOU did however, say that Baylor holds the power. If they have Slive and aTm by the nuts; guess what? Then they have UT as well. So now UT is Baylor's bitch?

Someone threatening a desperation lawsuit shows they don't really have the power you think. Silve doesn't want to get into a drawn out lawsuit, that's not cowering if fear of Baylor as you suggest.

Baylor is just not signing a waiver giving up their right to sue. Big difference. Did you read the crazy Baylor statement the other day? They seem pretty desperate to me. It will take a lot to get them to sign that waiver.
I am off to a 2 hour meeting. I'm sure I'll miss something classic in the Baylor vs Aggie showdown.
