Realignment of SECw and SECe

Damn.
So we wind up with MU, Arkansas, A&M, Ole Miss, MSU, Bama and LSU?
Auburn, Fla, UGA, UT, Kentucky, Vandy, So Car in east?
Listening to talk shows it is apparent that Aubie would be delighted to get away from us
and move to SECe.
Another reason not to like this expansion.

There wasn't another thread covering this topic, thanks for being awesome.

It's nice to be wanted in the west, but before the division of the SEC was made, AU played UT, UF, UK, UGa every year. We should have been in the east from the beginning. The only team in the west that was on AU's schedule every year besides Alabama was MSU and that one was never considered a rivalry game for us.
AU vs. LSU in a great game, but it just doesn't have the tradition for us older Auburn folks that AU vs. UF or AU vs. UT has. If MU joins TAM in the SEC, one only has to look at a map to see where Auburn really belongs.

If it is ONLY 14 teams, I like this set up:
West
Alabama
Arkansas
LSU
Mississippi
Mississippi State
Missouri
Texas a&M
East
Auburn
Florida
Georgia
Kentucky
South Carolina
Tennessee
Vanderbilt

KISS - send MO east & be done. Don't let AU escape from the bayou like they want too.

They could switch Vandy or UK over to the West to keep the two Alabama schools in the same division and with Vandy and UK w/o a major football rivalry to keep in tact. However, that will greatly shift the balance of power. That's just my opinion.

One of the best games year in and year out. It will be sad if it ends because of expansion. Probably no more Auburn or Florida on an annual basis.

LSU and Auburn are new rivals frankly
we rarely played them in football until the first expansion
A&M is much more of a rival for LSU and will easily replace Auburn as a must see game
so I love the move from that perspective

14 team SEC won't last long anyway.. no reason to bitch about a divisional alignment that we might have for a year (or less)

Tuscaloosa
Columbia - 10 hrs
Arkansas - 9 hrs
College Station - 11 hrs
Bama has no history with either new school, throw in the crap MS schools and Bama's schedule will suck. Not to mention traveling times. Prefer Independent over this.
Crappity crap crap

Auburn to the East is by far the best scenario. Any other move makes an imbalance in power.

I really don't see any way it doesn't go to 16 teams.
I wouldn't mind keeping it to 14 and keeping the game with the Vols.
Too much hatred for them not to want to get the opportunity to beat their heads in once a year.
If they do stop at 14 the natural thing would be the barn to the East.
AL, LSU, TAMU, Mizzou, Miss, Miss St, Arkansas
AU, Fla, GA, TN, KY, SC, Vandy
That would give the west 2 strong programs AL, LSU, 3 pretty good to decent ones TAMU, Arkansas and Mizzou and 2 "maybe next year" teams
For the east you'd have 2 strong programs in Florida and TN, 3 pretty good to decent ones in AU, GA and SC, and 2 "is it basketball season yet" teams.
If it does end up with 16 I'd like to see TCU and since getting anyone out of the ACC appears to be out of the question, West Virginia as #16. That would keep the 2 divisions in balance, and give them 2 programs to add to the "pretty good to decent" tier.
Louisville would be a nice addition for basketball, but they don't bring anything to the table that give them the nod for me over West Virginia. Nobody else in the Big East other than perhaps South Florida (which would be a possibility) would be an attractive option to me, and with the virtual certainty that OU, OSU, Texas and Texas Tech to head to the Pac-16 there's no one left in the "big 12" I'd want. Which basically leaves the Big East to raid.

I can only say that I REALLY want 14 teams. But I REALLY do not want Mizzou....WTF do they bring to the table, in the middle of no where.
So we lose AU, what the hell does that do to Bama/AU..one of the best series in sports.

No knowledgeable CFB Fab can believe it's gonna stop at 14 at this point. Division realignment will very different with the addition of the OK schools - on Thursday!

I'd rather lose the Iron Bowl than the Third Saturday in October.
Losing the Tennessee game will kill a lot of the enjoyment of the season for me.
