Hawg, I didn't say where I thought we would be. I just refuted your points. And then for fun predicted we will win an SEC title before Arkansas even given the 20 year head start.
And A&M has many advantages in 2010 over Arkansas to have a successful program. I expect them to be utilized to the fullest when we join the most competitive league in the country.
And ESPN is wrong. We run a pro style offense. Not a spread.

ORLY? that is interesting especially sense I have heard a package deal with you, Texas and OSU/OK is in the works with the Pac12. You have to actually join and then be a part of the league before you can make assumptions on how well you will do in it.

Question for a&m fans.
Why do you want in to the SEC so bad?

A&M busted up that rumor last year and will do so again this year.

if only for an easy W every year then I would prefer the Ags as well.

I think it's more wanting to get out from under Texas' shadow than anything else. The sores of being the Longhorns' red-headed stepchild have been festering for way too long.
The 2010 realignment drama taught everyone several things:
1. Texas is the 800-lb Bevo in the room. It does what it wants, when it wants, to its own benefit and its alone.
2. OU and Kansas have national followings (Kansas' in basketball, but still), but each has a parasitic twin (Ok State and K-State) that it can't shed.
3. Mizzou isn't as popular among the B1G as it thought. Culturally (Midwestern state) and academically (AAU member) it fits great, but its mediocre athletic success doesn't attract interest. Yet that's still its dream, and any other conference that attempts to recruit it will always question its loyalty (Mr. Slive, are you listening?)
4. Tech, Baylor, and Iowa State have few options. Tech is probably MWC material, Baylor may have trouble in C-USA, and Iowa State -- well, the MAC could use a 14th member.
A&M learned that it has brand appeal apart from Texas, because its statewide following can deliver the DFW and Houston markets to any conference that wants them. Its AAU membership gives it the academic credibility that the B1G demands, the PAC-12 strongly desires, and the SEC desparately wants (with the PAC-12 having made a formal invite and the SEC long rumored to have extended one too). And most importantly, its fans want out of "t.u.'s" shadow; they see the SEC (the dominant conference in football, the sport which is college athletics' money-maker) as the ticket to developing its OWN brand.

Therefore any argument made by any of them should be taken with a grain of salt.

Are you really still touting this after it was already pointed out to you recently that you built the gap in conference titles AFTER we left the SWC.

And the actions of the UT athletic department, which is creating its own network and wants to show highlight reels of UT high school commits, is being done out of a spirit of altruism?
Both sides are acting out of self-interest. A&M has finally learned that its self-interest is best served by separating from UT in terms of conference alignment. But realizing that going independent is most likely not going to work, it has chosen to align itself with college athletics' best conference if it can.

uh we won 15 in the conference to your 13, while you were there. We also won in 92 and 93. Had you stayed in we would've beat you then too.
wiki. money.

While were at it then let's take a trip down memory lane and discuss our 40 wins over A&M. 16 more wins than A&M has in the series. Now thats a drastic difference.

welcome to our board. if you're gonna post here, using "sip" or "tu" sounds silly on an lsu board. we prefer longhorns, whorns, horns, or dumbasses.

Hell yeah, used to be a great rivalry, I'd love to see it come back like that

I would call you a dumbass but you're pretty good at making that obvious.

Think of this like a job. If you had a chance to go to a better job, at a better company, and for more money, would you not jump at that opportunity too?

Call it what you want, but A&M is trying to do whats best for them and their fans. If thats selfish, then so be it. Not sure how us going to the SEC and the big12 finding a suitable replacement is hurting anybody though.

Duly noted and duly dismissed. We call them t-sips for a reason.
Personally I would love to play LSU during rivalry week. Also, I agree with the guy who said it should be home and home ONLY.

Since when are rivalries determined by relativley close, recent games? Arkansas has become a TOUGH game, but its not a rivalry.

I'm excited to have A&M in the league as well. Good to get some more old SWC blood in here with us.

I agree, wouldn't mind having the Aggies, especially being in Dallas we need more SEC fans around here. I just like giving their fans (big kat) a hard time.
