The national media has been so wrong on this whole story because they are just trying to be the first to tweet news.
What happened was the NYT (wtf do they know?) said we sent this letter yesterday. Our admin said, no we have not sent the letter.
NOW we have!
Impressive that aTm has now outfoxed two elites in a very short time span: first, the U of T and now NYT.
BTW, aren't they almost bankrupt now?

Nothing against A&M...but I'll only believe it when I see it.

Swiss Delegate: Ahhh, ven you say "Canada is on strike," what exactly do you mean?
Stephen Abootman: What do you think it means?
[pounds the table]
Stephen Abootman: We're striking, buddy! No more! That's it! Until we get what we want.
French Delegate: Who are you exactly to authorize this strike?
Stephen Abootman: I'm Stephen Abootman! Leader of the WGA!
French Delegate: The WGA?
Stephen Abootman: [crosses his arms] Yes! The World Canadian Bureau!
[the other delegates don't react]
French Delegate: What exactly does Canada want?
Stephen Abootman: We want: more... money!
Aide 1: [with mustache] Yeah! More money!
Japanese Delegate: More money from where?
Stephen Abootman: Just more money! You know! Canada doesn't get enough money! Other countries have lots of money; we want, we want some of that money! Hu- how about- the Internet? The Internet makes lots of money! So give us some of that money!
Aide 1: Yeah! Give us Internet money!

fricking terrible. the SEC is fine as is. watch us add Mizzou next. this is garbage.
Posted on 8/31/11 at 4:11 pm to Rohan2Reed
in which case we would lose auburn or bama from the west. lose auburn or bama and add mizzou and a&m.
pretty much the worst thing that could happen to us. talk about retarded.

you would THINK the presidents would make sure that wouldn't happen before signing off on this. but most of these fricking tards are so blinded by what it would do to their bottom line that they'll toss aside tradition and the wishes of the fans to put dough in their pockets. what a fricking disgrace.

I agree with you on this R2R. If A&M does join, I hope it goes no further with the exception of adding a team to the east, if possible. If not, I hope it's not Missouri.

It's all a big scam. Next week we'll hear that they've officially been accepted as the 12th member (they really really like the number 12 over there) of the Sun Belt Conference.
Seriously, it's all legalese. SEC is first choice but they're keeping B1G and PAC-12 options open.

In other news the SEC presidents met today and recommitted to keep the league as it is.

News Break:
The presidents of the 12 SEC schools were prepared to release a statement this evening welcoming Texas A&M as the 13th member of this storied and traditioned conference. However, after additional evidence of A&M's suitability for inclusion was brought into question, particularly related to an avatar used by a frequent aTm poster in TigerDroppings, self-named "Big Kat", the conference has reconsidered and will announce tomorrow that 12 teams are more than sufficient.
Jeez' HawgAllude beat me to it

FIFY. And neither Tyson nor Walton money can stop it.

Arkansas is firmly going to perpetrate its SEC dominance this year, set back and watch Faggie.
