My first thought as well.

...no, just southeastern states. Maybe we'll be the only conference with a name that matches its membership.

Texas is in the southeast?

acc is going to 14

sec would follow suit (im sure 14 was the target all along)

Well acording to ESPN TCU is worried, but confident if the East disbands they will find a home. TCU might be looking else where for options.

Yes, that is steep. I can't see the value. Besides, I like the ACC and wouldn't want it to disintegrate.

What is a clear signal that WVU may be coming is Pittsburgh's app to the ACC, and secondarily that they are playing LSU next week (dipping into the SEC already). But the Big East has a 27 month notice rule, so they might not get onto the schedules right away.

I like the possibility of WVU in the SEC.

If you were planning on leaving the ACC and everyone else wanted to raise the buyout, would you vote No?

FSU is talking about it Monday. I think there are two ACC schools planning on leaving that just didn't want to show their hand yet.

i think you are crazy. FSU is talking conference re-alignment, not necessarily leaving for a new conference. this definitely can include strategies to get to 14 or 16 or whatever number the winds are blowing to.

20 mm is a shite ton of cash, i sure as hell would not have voted yes

The 27 month deal does not apply to WVU as they have exceeded the 5 year period that was imposed with that requirement. No buyout applies either.

I wonder if the ACC has any power to enforce the new buyout agreement - who voted on it? Don't the boards of the respective member institutions have to confirm it before it becomes binding? I know a fair amount about contract law, but I don't really know much about holding governmental institutions to a contract like this.

No doubt in my mind now that WVU is coming to SEC.

I'm still not sure Missouri won't be the 14th member. If I were betting I would say:

Missouri - 60%
WVU - 40%

ACC buyout increase to $20MM now eliminates FSU and Va. Tech.

I sure hope Slive has a plan and SEC will be proactive instead of reactive. The studio guy from AJC didn't think the SEC has a plan, but I don't put much stock in the "talking heads"...

Appalachia's not the southeast? WVU is south of the MAson-Dixon Line, unless the state has moved.

Morgantown is actually barely south of Pennsylvania, north of Wash DC, Baltimore, Atlantic City, the state of Delaware, and the state of Virginia.......

well i was half right, looks like ACC is headed to 16 which means SEC is too.

aTm, TCU, Mizzou, and WVU
(bevo 9 dissolves)
aTm, TCU, and Mizzou to the west, WVU and AU to the east.
