"Gentlemen's agreement", brah. UF doesn't want FSU, UGA doesn't want GT or Clemson, USCe doesn't want Clemson, and UK doesn't want Louisville in the conference. So all of them got together to scratch each other's back.
So the rumor goes, at least. Make up your own mind whether you believe it or not.
