So the SEC is trying to woo OU in an effort to entice Texas also, or would take OU without Texas?

They should do that and just push Bama and Auburn to the East, and then we can get rid of the locked in oppenents every year since the Bama/Tenn rivalry would be fixed.

For LSU losing Bama, AU, and UF, every year in exchange for UT, A&M is better for us

It's likely, but not a certainty. It's actually better for both if they don't act as one.

Don't count out Oklahoma State to make the jump as well and expand the conference to 16 teams total.

No, I don't have a source, but I spoke with some OSU alums this morning, and according to them, it goes like this:

Wherever Texas goes, A&M and OU are sure to follow. Where OU goes, OSU is sure to follow.

They also said from what they've heard from other folks in the Big XII South, Texas and OU care less about Nebraska's decision because "(Nebraska) are not on the level of Texas and OU at this point in time."

Those four schools don't care what happens to the Big XII, and truth be known, the rumors about Texas Tech tagging along are speculative at best. There's no guarantee that any of this will happen, but the odds of the four aforementioned schools joining a conference together outweigh the possibility of Tech tagging along with them. Baylor is shite out of luck.

Will never happen. Not enough Motel 8's and Red Roof Inns in Austin to house the SEC rednecks when they come to town.

I always assumed that was the case but what about reports that Okie State is heading to the Pac 10? Is that just them talking in case it happens and they're ready? What's the deal?

Colorado threw the wrench in my opinion because it messes up the numbers and anyone's desire to have Baylor along.

IMO, UT in the SEC is not good for LSU recruiting.

Tech is worse than Baylor. Screw them. They add nothing.

The dream for the SEC is probably adding A&M, Texas, and OU. Then add Clemson because, well, they kind've belong, but you could also offer Virginia Tech instead. Then with 3 new western teams, you go to 7 school divisions, allowing you to shift the Alabama schools east.

I just can't see UT and co. joining the Pac-10. Just don't see how that is logical at all for them.

Which is what espn reported yesterday.

OldIowaTiger, before I answer your question, let me make a quick caveat before I get flamed to hell.

CAVEAT: Anything I post regarding the Big XII schools in this conference expansion is secondhand information passed along from alumni, friends who are fans of various schools in the Big XII, or reports from local radio here in Kansas City. When it comes to fans and alumni, Kansas City is essentially a melting pot.

Ok, back to your question. OSU is not a great sell for the Pac-10 because it really doesn't open up a large television market for them. Personally, I think OSU is bluffing (if they are talking about moving to the Pac-10). All eyes are on them following OU. It's the same deal with KU and K-State. The governor insists the two remain together, but there's no binding contract. I'm sure there isn't a binding contract for OU/OSU either.

I can't answer any questions regarding the Pac-10's plans. But I can pass on what I've heard from people around here concerning Big XII schools.

I'm sure every possible scenario has been posted on the internet somewhere, but if I hear of anything that hasn't reached the surface yet, I'd be glad to pass it along.
