Arkansas fans absolute fricking hate Texas A&M University and are obviously completely insecure about our presence, evidenced by them mashing their keyboards at everythread about us.
Meanwhile, most Aggie students and alums have never set foot in the state of Arkansas nor do we care to. It's astonishing really. Even after all the hysterics PorkinAustin has spewed here about how their athletic program would be as strong as ours if they had an ice hockey team, I still don't have any disdain towards Arkansas. Hopefully they return in due time.

Trash talk is cheap. Let's add A&M and whatever team in the east, then settle it on the field
Posted on 8/29/11 at 9:07 pm to Hook Em Horns
I disagreed with him that we will be another Florida, I think that's ridiculous. Florida's run in the mid 2000's in basketball and football was unprecedented in college athletics. I do think we have a very solid athletic program and are in the top 4 or 5 in that respect.
Football, who knows. We will probably struggle early on. I think we have the potential to compete, but we've always had that.
And I agree with the above, I can't wait to settle this on the field.
Now go back to OB and suck off Chip Brown

Not a flame either, but you are rather dense. Go back and read the thread. The only thing Ags were arguing in this thread is that we will be able to compete in the SEC in basically all sports. History is fine, but that has no bearing on our ability to be competitive in the SEC in 2012. This isn't that difficult to understand.
Here's how you stack up with the SEC.
Sure, you'll compete like Miss St, Ole Miss, Kentucky, & Vandy. I would say USCe & Arky, but they're better than you.
It's easy to see why Texas, Arky, etc all hate *some* you guys.
*ETA: added *some*. There are a few rational Aggie fans that are excited to have a chance to compete in the SEC. You'll let your on-field performance do the talking. To you, I say welcome.
To the others, you have a fresh start in a new conference with fan bases that don't dislike you, yet. You get respect by winning, not be asking for it, demanding it, or trying to convince us you deserve it. So, quit persisting with the futile hope and change, going in the right direction, sleeping giant crap.

Florida and Stanford are the only two schools to have placed in the top 10 of the Directors Cup every year since the inception of the award. TAMU has a great athletic program but it's no Florida.

You sure are a pompous jack arse.
So there is a thread started about "How A&M stacks up with the SEC", and you're saying that anyone who tried to do any extrapolation or conjecturing is annoying?
If that's how you feel, then don't click on the damn thread. What were you expecting? Everyone to say, "well we will find out in 2012 when they play it on the field" and sit around the camp fire roasting marshmallows and singing "Kumbaya"?
That's just not what's going to happen on a message board.

Look, no one here is coming in and saying A&M will win every SEC championship there is, but you're very obtuse if you think they will not be "vying" for championships across the board. Football is clearly the sport where A&M will need to step up their game the most, but it's not an overwhelming task.

No shite. Florida has the type of athletic program others look at with envy. I don't think anyone was saying A&M had an athletic program with anywhere near the long term success of Florida and if they were, they're sadly mistaken. A&M has, however, stepped up their game across the board by making better coaching decisions with the goal of reaching the repeated level of success of a Florida or Stanford.

This mahootney guy is dumb as a bag of rocks.
A thread was started about A&M stacking up with the SEC, and then we talked about it. If you didnt like the topic, dont click on the fricking thread!
Or come in here and continue to be obtuse and we will keep making fun of you for it, your call.

That's exactly what the sentiment is. Now think about that.
A&M is boasting of a Golf NC and 3 Men's T&F NC's. That's what you're bringing to the table. Arkansas was runner-up in that Golf match and we have 40 T&F NC's, 5 Triple Crowns, 18 of 20 SEC Indoor Titles, 18 of 20 SEC Outdoor titles and 19 of 20 Cross Country Titles. Guess what? No one in the SEC gives a shite.
The SEC has the Big 3, and there is no credit given to anything that starts with 'Womens'.
In the Big 3 since joining the SEC Arkansas has won the West 3 times and left Atlanta empty handed all 3 times.
In Baseball we've won the West, and the SEC, and made the CWS a few times.
In Basketball we are a solid #2 behind Kentucky in wins, NC Tourneys, etc etc etc. We even have 2 NC trips and a NC since 92 as well.
Yet despite all of that, we are looked at as 2nd tier. You Ag's need to understand that the bar is higher over here and no one in the SEC gives a shite about 2nd tier sports, womens anything or a bunch of 'Oh so close' moments in the Big 3.
Better change your frame of mind.

You guys have spent this entire thread talking about how much better the Arkansas athletic program is than A&M. Everyone knows that championships are all that matters.. no one hangs the "Western Division Co-Champs" banner (except for Ole Piss) and no one remembers who came in second.
But, the point of this thread was to discuss how A&M matched up athletically in the SEC. I don't know how you guys have manage to derail it so much.

I'll fill you in on a little secret. Goto page 3 2nd post down. The only people boasting of titles was your dipshit friend sunhog. Not one Aggie even started talking about titles. Remove head from arse.

A&M has finished first in the big12 south 3x and won one championship. The big12 south was easily the second best division in all of college football, and at times, the best.

In Baseball we've won the West, and the SEC, and made the CWS a few times.
We've done the same in the big12. Now the big12 is not the SEC, but its the 2nd best baseball conference out there. The point is, we were competitive like a good team should be.

Hey you can jump in your time machine all you want here, but A&M right now is the better program. Get back to me when you make the dance again.

Do you really think any of us don't already know this. Why don't you tell me something really crazy like water is wet or the sky is blue.
Look, A&M will compete in the SEC across the board. You're wrong about all other sports, they are important. If your team and conference are out there to compete, you better win. We look forward to joining the conference and making it and us better.
Now quit your bitching and maybe I'll buy you a beer at a game someday.

To you. And that's ok. I care about T&F.
But in the SEC the only thing that matters is the Big 3, and what titles you have in them. That's it.
There's nothing wrong with being good at other sports. Just don't expect for it to matter to anyone outside of your own school.
I'm not attacking you here, pal. But I have 20 years over here. You do not. I'm letting you know, take it as friendly advice, that smack talk about Golf or T&F is weak in the SEC.

You've got the most delusional fan base, and you deserve to be made fun of for it. Just like woopiginaustin is trying to tell you, you're going to have to step it up if you want to matter in the SEC.
Don't get pissy when I tell you that you suck by SEC standards. You wanted to know how you stack up with the SEC and got your feelings hurt when we were honest with you.

Going back and reading the original page of the thread again and you are quite right. There is definitely some delusion there. The majority of A&M fans know that they will not come in right away and win the West in football (wtf to anyone who thinks that). There very well will be some growing pains, albeit not as bad as Arkansas had entering the SEC in the 90s.
The A&M basketball program should come in and be the favorites to win the West. Were there even any ranked teams in the SEC West last year? The baseball team will see much tougher competition so it will be interesting to see how they stack up..
Also, as I've stated, I don't know of many A&M fans who would dare to put the athletic program on par with Florida. That's silliness.
