You're an idiot. Baylor isn't calling the shots any more than a chihuahua biting the ankle of Mike the Tiger calls the shots.

If I were A&M I'd say we moved forward on the strength of your OK five days ago and, if you sue, we'll own your little arse university for fraud.

The Big 12 conference itself said it wouldn't sue but that letter had nothing to do with the member schools.

On September 2, Big 12 commish Dan Beebe sent a letter to SEC commish Mike Slive that stated, in part, “the Big 12 Conference Board of Directors unanimously authorized me to convey to you and their colleagues in the Southeastern Conference that the Big 12 and its members will not take any legal action for any possible claims against the SEC or its members relating to the departure of Texas A&M University from the Big 12 and the admission of Texas A&M into the SEC …

What part of this quote from the article don't you understand?

This is what has me confused. The wording implies that the Big 12 (as a whole) and it's members would not sue the SEC.

If Baylor did sue, wouldn't the suit be thrown out due to this letter?

You can sue anyone for any reason, but I think A&M would have an action against Baylor, too. The Aggies moved forward on good faith based on the letter from Beebe saying A&M was free and clear to negotiate with the SEC. If Baylor wants to throw Beebe under the bus and say he didn't have their OK, they can. However, if there is documentation that Baylor went along, and I bet there is, then Baylor is just doing what they do best. Whine.

No kidding. "If we can't get him for something criminal, we'll get him to lie about a blowjob!" Starr is a weasel of the first magnitude.

Our old next door neighbor and his wife are Baylor alums. They moved two years ago because he took a new job...he's now an Assistant General Counsel(lawyer) for Baylor! Oh how I wish they still lived next door!

It would not surprise me if someone at t.u. were controlling the situation at Baylor and having them do their dirty work. t.u.'s little fiefdom is being dismantled before their eyes and there is nothing they can do about it but threaten lawsuits.
wow. isnt this fricking truth. never thought about it until you said it, and it makes perfect sense....

I love some of the responses to the article. TexansFan says, "I dont think texas gives a rats arse. They could go independent or to the pac 16. They dont need A&M as much as A&M needs them".

So this genius sees A&M as being dependent on UT, even though they are trying to join a conference that Texas won't join. How long before TexansFan joins the Rant?
