Mizzou money? See St. Louis + Kansas City TV markets. They will add lots of eyeballs that = network cash (especially combined with the Texas market eyeballs that A&M brings). Also make a much more solid foundation for an SEC Network (see the outkickthecoverage articles about that).

If there are so many Mizzou eyeballs in these markets, why did Mizzou average 10,000 under capacity last year for attendance? People just don't care, it seems.
St Louis and KC are not CFB towns like Atlanta or Birmingham. Mizzou is a mediocre program with a mediocre fanbase. The only way they bring in more $ than they take out is if the SEC builds its own network and somehow cons cable companies in Missouri to pay for it.

Its apparently about selling cable subscriptions.
I don't want expansion, but its happening. We need a 14. Mizzou is the best option left, IMO.

Hey, TigerCub, do you have a link to your statement about LSU and Florida? If LSU did say what you stated, then the school that I have degrees from sound like chicken shite. I can't believe that the athletic department would be a pussy about playing Florida. Every school has the potential of being good or bad. Hell, when I went to LSU, Ole Miss was a powerhouse plus we played Bama every year. I want a link to your stupid statement.
It was in an article about a month ago when they first voted to allow A&M in. It has quotes from Chancellor Martin. I'm not sure where the article was though. And FWIW, I think both LSU and Florida asked to do away with permanent opponents, but if that couldn't happen to switch to someone else.

It hard to care when you play teams that doesn't really care about football. Wait until the crazies come to their town, Inject some quality football loving in their fanbase.

Duzz is onto something. IF Mizzou gets to join the SEC, its football passion will increase a LOT, methinx

Missouri adds nothing to the SEC. How much of a value is their market when the market is control by pro sports?
The SEC is about to start a television network. The Big Ten network currently gets 90 cents per subscriber per month in states with a Big Ten school in them. They get a whopping five cents in states without a Big Ten school.
Assuming a similar ratio for the future SEC network, Mizzou increases revenue in the KC and STL markets x18. Conference expansion/realignment is all about television revenue, and Missouri is the best pick out there for the SEC as team #14.

I'm perfectly fine with trading USCe for Mizzou, I don't feel like we have any kind of rivalry with them and the trip is undriveable
Makes the most sense of any scenario if Mizzou is in
I figured they would get A&M as their permanent team though honestly, but it really doesn't bother me either way. It has been real Cocks

So, all the pussies like Ole Miss and Vanderbilt, and Kentucky and Mississippi State get to keep playing. Lame arse wannabes like Arkansas and Mizzou, and A&M and USCe get games that either team (depending on which is worse any given season) could win. LSU and Florida are forced to continue our annual bloodbath.
I supported adding A&M and Mizzou, but now regret it. LSU has gained absolutely nothing from this expansion.

the best outcome would be shipping Bama and Auburn to the east and moving Vandy west... thats the outcome that makes the most sense and keeps big baby Bama happy about their rivals
You must be a Boise fan.

We've had to go through Florida to win every SEC Championship game we've ever played in.
Sorry, I don't feel sorry for you. Florida isn't even that good any more.

We had to go through them just to get to the SECCG.
Bear Bryant was a drunkard and cheater. Saban is Miles' bitch, and Chizik's too. Now go away. You are annoying me.

Miles are interesting but I like travel time better...
From Mizzou:
Fayetteville: 5 hrs, 28 mins
Lexington: 7 hrs, 45 mins
Nashville: 7 hrs, 22 mins
Knoxville: 10 hrs, 9 mins
Athens: 12 hrs, 42 mins
Columbia, SC: 14 hrs, 34 mins
Gainesville: 17 hrs, 9 mins
Okay, now here are the driving times for Mizzou when the Big 12 was one big happy family:
Lawrence, KS: 2 hrs, 45 mins
Manhattan, KS: 4 hrs, 0 mins
Ames, IA: 5 hrs, 11 mins
Lincoln, NE: 5 hrs, 26 mins
Stillwater, OK: 7 hrs, 4 mins
Norman, OK: 7 hrs, 53 mins
Boulder, CO: 11 hrs, 57 mins
Granted, the most distant members of the Big 12 are Iowa State and Texas and they are 15 hrs, 40 mins apart. Fayetteville and Columbia, SC are 15 hours apart and those 2 schools have played every year for nearly 20 years.
So it could work...

Evidently you Gumps are afraid of Mizzou by insisting that they be placed in the East. I guess you remember that the drunkard Bryant was 1-2-0 against Mizzou including the arse raping they gave you in Birmingham on national television.

A&M and Missouri have played a grand total of 11 times. Such a storied history between the two schools.
