Why would Missouri not play A&M as their cross division rival? If their recruiting depends on access to Texas, as has been previously stated, that would be a better situation for them than having Arkansas as the cross division game.

Also, that would keep the different expansion teams crossed with each other.. Arkansas and South Carolina from 1992, and A&M and Missouri from 2012ish.

At least your team cares. I understand that SC and Arky are permanent rivals because of joining the SEC together but SC and Arky will never consider each other rivals. Regardless of whats on the line or what the team's rankings are. SC and Arky fans may not really care for each other as rivals but at least Arky shows up for those games.

We had never played Carolina before going SEC.

I don't have a problem with Carolina, and we usually win that game. But I believe a game vs Mizzou has the potential to be more interesting. It has to be. We've just got too many Mizzou people around here and vice versa.

We will be Mizzou's main rival in the SEC.

I think Arkansas will continue to hate LSU (and A&M) more, though.

Its just too far away. I care about Carolina more than I do UGA, but its still just too far away to have any sense of real conference rivalry.

I don't think it would do a whole lot for them. Currently, because there are 4 Big 12 teams in TX, MO plays 2 games a year within the state. With A&M as their perm, they would only play ever other year. Getting a quality OOC game within the state may be difficult due to Big 12 vindictiveness. MO is going to have to reinvent themselves. They can test the appeal of the SEC since they are the ideal gateway school for wester B1G recruits. They can now establish a presence in FL since getting OOC games there may be easier.

I thought it had been stated that one of LSU's conditions for voting in favor of expansion the first time was that they drop Florida as their permanent opponent. Is that not going to happen now?

To be fair I don't think a 12-7 record is "usually" winning.

wmr I feel the same way. I hope to go to every SEC stadium at least once to see the Gamecocks play but even with SC going to Arky every other year that just seems like such a difficult trip to make it all the way to NW Arkansas. A&M is going to be hell.

Then Mizzou declines the invite because their program depends on Texas recruiting. They have to play A&M every year.

Wow. We just got two new conference games closer than our current closest SEC foe. While I have been opposed from it since the beginning, I might as well point out what I like about it now.

A&M in Dallas 5 1/2 hours from Fayetteville

Mizzou in Columbia 5 hours from Fayetteville every other year.

Our schedule just got a lot cooler for fans who like to travel.

This became fantastic for the Fans.

If you live in Little Rock you are in Heaven for traveling to games.

East Arkansas is all over Bama, Ole Miss, Vandy and MSU.
South Arkansas is all over TAMU, LSU, Bama, and MSU
North Arkansas is all over Missouri, TAMU and Vandy.

Massive score for Arkansas. Can we dump the Little Rock Game now. Little Rock just about sits in the middle and is perfect for every West travel games and Mizzou and Vandy in the East.

Ok. I won't give you hell. I like you guys.

I actually hope y'all pick up LSU and give Florida to the Aggies.

You'd enjoy that trip more.

Nebraska did just fine in the Big8 without Texas Teams... We should sell that party line.

Mizzou has over 30 players on their roster from Texas now. I don't see them convincing kids from Florida to go there.

Texas high school talent is pretty much stocking the entire Big 12 right now.

Not to mention all the "Missouri is in the East" jokes/geography-challenged southerners. This will be worse than Leaders and Legends.
Thanks, Bama.

You are going to have to deal with it because you are no longer going to play 2 games a year in the state of TX. You also will not impress people by playing the non Big 12 schools, and the Big 12 is not going to play you.

Wow, I wanted them in the West to see LSU every other year in Columbia. If they can't join the West then they need to stay in the Big 12.
