I think West Virginia could add more TVs than we thought. It's tucked between a bunch of states, pretty close to Pittsburgh, and it could get the SEC into the Midwest a little bit.
But I guess if you have the chance to add Missouri, we should just do that instead.

So what? This adding market crap is exactly crap. Clemson is the natural add on along with A&M in the West.
Jeebus! I prefer adding the ACC rivals, but this super conference bs is only about money i.e. TV revenue primarily.
Clemson does not help the SEC in that regard. None.
(Ga. Tech is the natural add along fwiw)

Thank you, there's a reason why the Pac 10 went after UTAH and COLORADO. Wanted the Salt Lake and Denver markets. I thought we learned about this last year.

Can't wait for a wicked Mizzu v Ole Miss game.
I was thinking about how funny it sounded the other day. I can see the CBS headline.
The Bayou Bengals and The Mizzou Tigers renew the rivalry this weekend. What???

glass, I think you're way off on this.
Adding MO is much better than adding Clemson.
Clemson brings nothing new to the table.

i think they really just wanted a CCG, and those were 2 convenient options that meet all the criteria.
i dont think they were clamoring for the slc market

Probably. Mizzou has plenty of rednecks. Clemson should have already been added. They are better at all three major sports and are already hated rivals with USC and UGA. It makes for better competition, not for better revenue. And we all know this is what it is all about.

We already have a team in South Carolina so we don't necessarily need another. Missouri opens up more markets.
Wait, why care about "markets" so much? If "markets" are so important, why not consolidate the state of South Carolina's market by adding Clemson and driving the ACC completely out of that state? Missouri does not have a rivalry with ANY single team in the SEC. Simply not a good fit. Clemson, on the other hand, has played South Carolina, Auburn, and Alabama many, many times over the years, not to mention the ongoing feud with LSU over the "Death Valley" nickname...

They mentioned it all over ESPN when it was happening, it opened up Salt Lake City and Utah and you get Denver and state of Colorado.
Why do you think they're going after Texas Tech, what do they bring to the Table, parts of Texas just in case they don't get Texas.

this is how markets work: you want IN a market you dont need to have an saddamm hussein like authoritarian hold over it.
how many NEW tv sets would clemson bring? the sweeney household and extended family? PASS.

you actually think TT makes it into the PAC without UT? nooooooooooooooooooooooooo chance.
hell OSU wouldnt make it in without OU. quadruple that for TT/UT.

Correct.
Now, I'm not saying that I don't want Clemson, but like you said...

Just because you add a market doesn't mean those people care about Mizzou. If I weren't drunk I'd show you how the schools around NYC don't = tv money. Jackasses!

I think taking Texas Tech allows them to do 4 four-team pods to help with scheduling. Plus, every team in the old Pac 10 had a close rival. It helped a lot for basketball scheduling.
Washington - Washington State
Oregon - Oregon State
Stanford - California
UCLA - USC
Arizona - Arizona State
Oklahoma/Oklahoma State and Texas/Texas Tech add into that formula.

Clemson would be an awesome fit. It just won't happen. The rivalry with Georgia used to be so intense and could be re-kindled.

NYC don't = tv money
stl and kc =/= nyc
those markets love sports. maybe they dont love mizzou sports all that much, but all of a sudden they would get extended coverage of the best college football conference in the country.
its a big win, saying otherwise is pretty silly.
saying clemson would bring more NEW tv sets to the SEC is even sillier.

St Louis is a baseball town. They don't give a Mizzou about Mizzou!

Mizzou fans turn out in STL and KC big in numbers when Mizzou play ILLINOIS in basektball and football in STL and KU in KC.
Like I said southern Missouri might not care about them but they do have LOTS of fans in the cities. Mizzou will gain more fans around here because the football team came down after the tornado to help clean. Basketball coach came down to visit people in the shelters, and they're playing D2 Missouri Southern in Joplin on ESPNU on Oct 30th with ALL the ticket sales and donations going to Joplin and Tornado victims. They'll win TONS of fans for that shite. Especially when Div1 teams aren't allowed to play at D2 teams.
