Never gave it much serious consideration, but if Mo is fead up with TU, BigE might be a nice fit - athletics, academics & geographics.
Save a conference with the addition of ECU. They could win in this AQ conf.
Food for thought.

I think its a crime if the Big East invites Navy and Air Force but not Army. The other service academies should band together and say all or none. I have an issue with this!

Army and Navy together makes sense for the Big East, but adding Air Force is a stretch (even for a conference where TCU is a future member). The Big 12-2-1-who knows how many more should add them.

Rumor is WVU, UConn, UL, Cincy, and Rutgers are going to vote to dissolve the conference. That would mean no penalty for leaving, and no 27 month wait.

Where would WVU, UL, and Cincy go? Conference USA?

That is what should happen. The football schools should join CUSA and make a 12 team conference. The Big East can revert to a basketball only conference once again.

C-USA *IS* a 12-team conference right now, barring a raid by the Big 12 to take Houston, SMU, UTEP, and so forth.

wow

what is amazing about this to me is that would seem to imply they all think they land somewhere better. I could easily see Louisville to the Big 12 but the end locations of the other schools seem a lot less clear to me

Well it didnt/hasnt happened yet, but if a dissolve comes it seems the following options would happen.

UConn - ACC
Rutgers - ACC or even B1G
UL - Big XII
Cincy - Big XII
WVU - SEC or Big XII

These guys are treading water. Adding two academies & ECU keeps them viable in football, but would that really be an AQ caliber conference? I think not.

WVU would stay in that scenario cause it gives them a better then average chance at a BCS payday every year.
