Does A&M need UT?

They've had them for over a century and where has it gotten them?
I don't think the SEC is a great place to go if you want to get better in football, but to think they need UT and the rivalry is silly. The aggies have been spinning their wheels as a second tier program pretty much since inception. A change of some sort is definitely needed.

You don't think playing better overall competition might spur them to get better ?

They could get better and have worse records and go to worse (or no) bowls. Arkansas was in a similar position when they joined and haven't improved their standing nationally in nearly 2 decades. They have backslid a bit to be honest. A&M has a much better upside, though.

How's that worked out for Arkansas?

Yet Arkansas just beat the crap out of A&M this past year...

No, we don't need no stinky tea sippers

a much larger athletic budget. they just got 17.8 million for this year and they are the favorite in the west this year. Much better off than a&m over the last 10 years.

I will tell you in all sincerity that, for those of us who want to split form Texas, it's about a lot more than football.

A&M moving to the SEC is a no brainer if the opportunity is there.

My reference was wins/conference titles.

I would say it worked out pretty damn good. If we would have stayed in that horn cesspool called the SWC, we would have been screwed over by Texas legislatures when the SWC broke up, and be in C-USA now all b/c of horrid Texas politics.
So you tell me horn-how did the move work out for us? SEC....C-USA hmmmmmm

Again, wins? Just another middle tier program in the SEC. Enjoy the $$$.

seriously? Look at your SOS. Look at your conference. TU has to get up to play Oklahoma, Nebraska and the aggies ever year. That's it.
In this new Big 12-2....you don't even have to face Nebraska now.
