imagine the arms race that would come w/ superconferences. more money to be made, more to be spent, more to be charged for seats and licenses to buy seats...

i've already given up basketball and baseball season tickets and i make a good living. i don't want to see this change.

Well one although Super conferences wont help this yera you have a boise state team coming in number 2 adn they have a few tough games. They may play for a title.

But the issue is money for the conferences not tradition. look at your tradition now. Its about dollars. and if we had the playoff, none of this would be happening. To me the super conferences will force a playoff. All conferences will haev a championship and then a plus 2 system with the final four champions playing off will happen. Watch and see.

I heard on ESPN radio n tuesday that a 16 college playoff would have amde 750 million dollars. The BCS makes 140 a year. That is why Big Ten adn Pac 10 blocked using the tradition line. They wanted to move up in that pot of 750 million

i'd like to see a playoff, too.

but you don't have to have superconferences to have a playoff. if superconferences tend to force a playoff, it's still not enough for me to change CFB forever.

even if by some miracle the big 12 does not fragment this year, it will happen eventually. The superconferences have been talked about for a long time and the cat is now out of the bag. If not this year it will happen in the next 10 years.

Becuase in the case with Auburn. They come in Ranked number 16 and never gets a chance to compete for the title.

Auburn could have started the season ranked #3 and that's exactly where they would have finished---#3. I think they could have even been preseason ranked #1 or 2 and still been jumped by USC and Oklahoma, who I think were superior teams. It sucks they picked that year to go undefeated, but shite happens. However, no way would it happen right now. An undefeated SEC team will always get the benefit of the doubt currently.
