At this point, can't The Big XII just add let's say Houston and/or SMU.....

to balance out this TAMU exit?
I'm pretty bad with expansion talk but could it possibly be this hard to add those two schools who have good athletic backgrounds? What would need to happen for this scenario? Seems like a win win imo the Big XII would be back to 10 or 11 teams without TAMU?

B/c they suck and the Big12 has their markets.

Seems like the big 12 would be after TCU. TCU is better than most of the current big 12 teams.

Just like everything in life, CFB is all about $.
$ in college football is all about TV revenue.
Houston, SMU and TCU bring no markets to te Big 12 that Texas doesn't already bring.
Ultimately.....aggie, OU, OSU, Mizzou and maybe Tec will all leave.
Texas will add Houston, SMU, New Mexico, Air Force, BYU, Memphis (in some combo) and maybe some others to form a BCS conference it completely controls which won't bitch about the LHN.

Seems like, don't it? Except this is not about on-field success. TCU brings no television markets, and as a small private school, has a tiny fan base even when you add in all the t-shirt fans (something like 27 at last count). And TCU would be very wise to keep any Big 12 invites at arms' length.
TCU, SMU, Cougar High and Rice can do nothing to save the Big 12 long term. Nor can Tulsa, Louisville, Air Force, BYU or any other team mentioned. The time to save the Big 12 was two years ago, before Nebraska and Colorado bolted (and Mizzou tried to bolt).

I don't think the other conferences would consider this a BCS conference with an automatic bid.
