Sao, you are reaching pretty bad. This thread isn't even bad. Keep looking. You'll find a gem to run over here and share eventually.
Hold up. Are you actually stating there aren't the daily DOZENS of posts flaming Sip t-shirt fandom over on TA? That it's not a legit obsession?
Are you standing by this assertion?

I was at an Academy in San Antonio. They had very little Aggie stuff. Tons of that ugly burnt orange crap. I asked why they didn't have more A&M stuff and was told (by a t-shirt sip) "burnt orange is so much prettier." I told him that then I guess he didn't need my business at this store. Other stores in SA do have about an equal amount of the two. But, I do believe that IF YOU DON'T ASK, THEY WON'T CARRY IT. So I intend to keep asking any store that has tu stuff (aka Sam's) why they don't carry Aggie things.

Sao, is your employer hiring? I want your job. You seem to have a tremendous amount of time on your hands.

I'm my boss and I don't hire Aggy. Jelly?
Try Burger Boy. GL

Aggies believe there is both a media and retail conspiracy against them in Texas. As if store managers and sportscasts follow some allegiance rather than what sells. But on the other hand they're angered by the legions of UT "t-shirt" fans who watch UT sports and buy the gear.
Weird bunch, they are.

People bitching about t-shirt selection at a store are reaching.
Driving around Texas, I find more people reppin' the Horns than the Ags...it's close, but I think your typical on the fence person may choose UT.
I may be dead wrong, but this is just my encounters.
As stated earlier, who cares what is at a store. "They don't need my business because they have too much burnt orange?"
The world still turns and Academy will still be open.
This shite is sad...and I know it's not a reflection on all aggies. But who the hell gets bent out of shape because of what merchandise a store sells.
Successful stores research a product before it hits shelves. Maybe they have more UT shite because they sell more UT shite?
Can't it be that simple?

So what are they bitching about?
1 guy can't buy an aTm tshirt anywhere
2 guy is above buying a atm tshirt but is mad because no one else does either
3 guy really wants a atm tshirt but there is no market because no wants to back a looser
Someone said it best in the Dicks sporting goods link. If you want people to sell your stuff, win enough games/Big12CC/BCSCC to make people want to wear your crappy stuff. I don't care who you are, this stuff is funny.

It reflects two things, IMO
1. AMU has the worst product marketing department in the nation.
2. UT has one of the best.
If you can't penetrate Walmart et. al. shelves in Texas, fire everyone and start over.

No such thing as a product marketing department in college athletics. CLC maintains trademarks and assists in retail environments. UT is number 1 year in year out because they have a huge fanbase, HUGE. If aTm really has that stance regarding retail stores they really are crazy over there, it is because of demand nothing else.

The gist is also how Aggy continually berates the UT fanbase for being a fan of but not graduates of the school. They cannot and will not legitimize the program's popularity and reach to the common man, which makes no sense at all.
Any other business in the world would flip their collective wigs using this marketing model. It's akin to Mercedes telling you since you're not from Mannheim or Stuttgart, don't bother buying their automobile. They don't recognize you as good enough.

We won't care about t-shirt fans in other states. It's just annoying when the guy comes to mow your lawn and he has a longhorn shirt on. But yes their gear sells, and they probably have the most marketable logo around...
Posted on 8/22/11 at 6:21 pm to CassiusClay
Would you find it annoying if he had an Aggie shirt on? Serious question.

Actually, kind of. I'm sure some Aggies would be hypocritical about it.
Another thing, is that it's one thing to be a casual t-shirt fan, wearing a shirt just to wear one. But I've dealt with so many smack talk from tshirt fans that go to texas state or utsa etc. That's were it gets old.
Posted on 8/22/11 at 6:41 pm to CassiusClay
So you can't talk shite about a team if you're a fan if you don't have the good fortune of attending that fine university.
You should talk to the retards at Blinn.

But yeah I hear you. If you talk smack when you don't/didn't even go to that school, you don't think that's pathetic? If a arkansas state fan starting talking smack bc arkansas beat you, I'm sure you would agree that's retarded.
