ACC getting nervous- former FSUAD says maybe not right for FSU now

“The ACC was right for FSU 20 years ago, but right now, I don’t know,” said Bob Goin, the former FSU athletic director (1990-94) and Ponte Vedra Beach resident, who still acts as a consultant for Division I athletic departments. “Circumstances have changed and they have to re-evaluate whether it’s still the best option.
“If I was the ACC, I’d go get Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Kansas, Missouri or maybe Connecticut. Just get to 16 teams before the SEC could make its move. What’s going to push the panic button for FSU is [the ACC] not being pro-active.”
I find it amusing he'd go out to the midwest for the ACC.

Pitt, WV, Kansas, and Mizzou would make for a great basketball conference, which the ACC is, but wouldn't make it much better as a football conference.
I'd be interested in seeing this happen, if only to collapse the Big East as a football league and force ND into the Big Ten.

ACC could go all east coast.
Steal UCONN from Big east, add Pitt, temple and either steal USF or offer UCF which has really upgraded facilities.
And yes, I did say Temple. Strong basketball school with growing football program and great media market.

No, they aren't.
However, the Big East coaches have already discussed an ultimatum being sent to ND over their basketball-only membership in the league. At least part of that is driven by the fact that ND gets to share in the Big East's non-BCS bids while not kicking anything back to the conference.

Kansas and Missouri would be perfect for the ACC, except for geography. And it appears nobody gives a shite about that anymore.
