If Bama wants to keep Tenn and Auburn wants to keep Georgia, that's fine and their call.

But if LSU is only playing 2 East teams, I think it's ridiculous that florida would continue to be locked in as LSU's permanent.

I don't have a problem with a UF permanent opponent at all.

Interesting. However why not move Auburn to the east for the sake of evening out the the two divisions? You can still keep the iron bowl.

Why are LSU fans always bitching about having to play Florida?

Well considering Florida has been the most consistent power in the league besides LSU over the last 15+ years, it's no surprise that many LSU fans are not in favor of Florida being a permanent on the LSU schedule.

Some like it, but most would prefer a rotation. Permanent opponents in general cross-division is not a very equitable way to manage league schedules.

How is it fair that LSU gets Florida every year while Ole Miss gets Vandy? Or State gets Kentucky? I'd agree that it's nice that Aub/Bama/LSU all get a Big6 from the East, but it's certainly not to LSU's advantage to get the biggest power from the East every year.

I saw an Alabama fan yesterday cringe at the idea of having Auburn, LSU, and Florida in the same division. An LSU fan responded, "now you know how it feels to have Florida on the schedule every year."

I like playing Florida every year as do most people that I know. It is more difficult, but I would rather have a game on the calendar that has hype and gets national attention than some game that no one cares about.

Because it's OK for them to bitch about the fairness of playing Florida every year. Alabama fans, however, are "whining" when they complain about playing 3 times as many teams coming off of bye weeks as the next closest SEC team over the last 5 years.

Seriously, I'd be all for LSU replacing Florida as their permanent opponent from the East if it would stop the whining.

He's eliminating the AU/MSU and OM/Bama games because everyone knows there will be no need for head to head tiebreakers with the Mississippi teams.

some bitch, some don't. but, it is not equatable for us to play florida and y'all to play vandy. the sec crown could hinge, in some years, on that unbalanced arrangement. i think many lsu fans would prefer bama to have the harder schedule as opposed to lsu. and i think you bama-ites would agree if you were in our place. and lastly, lsu fans like to bitch, ok?

I guess this would be an issue if Alabama...you know...actually played Vandy as their permanent opponent. Tennessee is Alabama's permanent opponent and has been for years.

Florida >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Tennessee.

You'd be more credible if you would just come out and say that Bama gets the most favorable schedule in the conference.

How many times have other schools protested conference scheduling? And what has been done about it? NOTHING.

But Bama complains about having to play teams coming off of bye weeks and the SEC immediately changes it.

Are you suggesting that the previous schedule arrangement was fair?

Petition to have the permanent opponent changed instead of whining about it then and they very well may change it. Tennessee up until about 5 years ago was every bit the program that Florida was. It's not Bama'a fault that UT has been mediocre since the mid 00s. That certainly wasn't the case up until that point.

How is Tennessee in a typical year any more of a favorable draw than say South Carolina for Arkansas, or Georgia for Auburn? Are THEY getting a favorable schedule too?

Do you not see how having to play THREE TIMES as many opponents coming off of bye weeks as the next closest SEC team is UNFAIR??? If you can't, then there's no possible way an objective conversation can be had.
