Woodward making big hires

Woodward has made a name for himself by reeling in big fish.
Has he been successful because of great timing or because he could sell ice to an Eskimo?
Could he convince a “white whale” to come to LSU regardless of their current situation, or will this be mainly about timing?

I think the jury is still out on Scott. Not saying he isn’t good just that we don’t know yet. Jay Johnson hasn’t even coached a game yet but seems like a good hire. Has Woodward been successful or unsuccessful? Nobody knows yet

He was able to "lure" Jimbo to A&M because of when he came in. He wasn't spending his own money.
I'm not trying to downtalk the guy, but no AD picks and signs the head football coach all on their own. Secondary sports, maybe. But not football.

Yes the LSU hires are fresh and unproven at LSU(successful at prior schools).
I’m talking about the whole body of work at Woodward’s previous schools. A large percentage of his hires have been successful before and after he brought them in.
Was he able to get big names because he’s just that good of a salesman? Or lucky timing?

Lots of hype around this hire….there will be a huge letdown when the announcement comes out.

If so, it'll be the first let down hire he's ever made, and it would come on the biggest hire of his career.
