Does everyone here think he didn't plan for this possibility. He has courted multiple coaches up to this point. I'm bummed that the Riley thing didn't work out. There is not a chance in hell he is just sitting there thinking i don't have any idea where to go from here. I refuse to believe that person is Mark Stoops.

Easily can be. Not sure why these pessimistic fricks think it's impossible for a white whale to exit retirement - particularly a guy that was on the brink of greatness but retired a lil early to care for his family.

The theory is, he hasn’t been announced because 1, respect for the current staff, and 2 because he is finishing his work with Fox Sports. Woody wanted to keep him there and finish it out for inside information/scouting.

He was so confident he had his man that he blew off work and went hunting this week. Instead of making absolutely sure nothing was left to chance he was sitting in a duck blind. He thought he had it sewed up and he didnt. I have little faith he had a plan B on speed dial. Woodward is looking more like a mediocrity who fell arse backward into a couple of good hires.
