Ok, he's 65, you can't tell me he couldn't spend 5 or 6 years in Baton Rouge and move things in the right direction.

It took him 7 years to get Tulane to a championship level. He will be 72 in 7 years. Does LSU have the patience to wait 7 years for an elderly coach to rebuild a team?

In 5 or 6 years he'd have the program where it needs to be, hopefully he has an assistant groomed for the job and if not a healthier program will be more attractive to a big name coach.
