Jimbo will bring in enough money to get LSU basketball a good coach.

If we get Jimbo and give him the money for all the assistants he wants and all the shadow stuff he needs to compete with Saban they can give JJ a 10 year contract for all I care.

Chump change compared to the money that can be brought in by playoff and national championship appearances

look i like LSU basketball a lot, hell my username is a reference to John Brady constantly using the Lester Earl era "draconian sanctions" as an excuse for his failings. But let's keep our priorities straight, shall we?

I'll have to find the article, but I recently read Saban increased alabamas annual football budget from ~$15mil to ~$45mil within his first 2 or 3 years.
Alabama is rolling in profit, # of University applicants are up, enrollment is way up, all leading to quality of student admitted being up. So not only do they have more money as an AD, the entire institution benefits.
If you fully commit the resources and also have the potential to be a top football program it can be huge for your school. Some schools are more likely to reach that success than others, and some schools need it more than others as well. I believe we qualify in both categories.

In the last decade, enrollment has increased by more than 55 percent, to a record 37,100 students this fall, and more than half of the students now are from out of state, another seismic shift. The acceptance rate in the last decade fell to 54 percent, from 72 percent. This year, 2,261 freshmen are enrolled in its Honors College, two and half times the number 10 years ago. Its 174 National Merit and National Achievement finalists rank Alabama among the top five public universities.
