LSU landed multiple players in the portal during this last cycle that Lane wanted and tried to get, mostly by being outbid.
Also, LSU poached several of his front office staff.
If I'm Kiffin, I'm thinking I can at minimum do the same things in the portal at LSU, maybe more. Then I can also land a top 10 recruiting class every year. There will also be more money to spread around for staff. Ole Miss already pays Golding a lot but LSU can spread more around.
I think Kiffin can also convince the boosters to invest more in portal players because he has a proven track record of making it work.
Another thing to consider is the 9 game conference schedule. With more resources, Lane would be in a better spot to compete.
Also, being the head coach at LSU is just a lot more prestigious nationally than being the head coach at Ole Miss.

There is no more in state recruiting pipeline, it's a bidding war.
Meh, even Kelly was able to get 6 of the top 10 Louisiana recruits in last years cycle
A better coach and the program in a better spot can easily keep most LA kids here

Unless Kiffin just got lazy or something, he'd kill it here.

Good question, No reason he would.

BR is the worst city where an SEC school is located. It’s crime ridden and raggedy. Oxford is a much better place to live.

a whole 6 of 10? that was a firable offense from saban-orgeron

oh absolutely would he kill it here. But why in the world would he want to come to this dumpster fire, where our advantages are evaporated and the fans are so spoiled they cant see it.

Because that isn't true.
This past cycle, LSU had the #10 recruiting class.
Ole Miss was at #16.
LSU had the #1 recruiting class, Ole Miss was #4.
2025 LSU is #6 in team talent, Ole Miss isn't top 20.
Old man Kelly is landing better players than Kiffin at Ole Miss, because LSU is a bigger brand and has more resources.

false, it was a single year booster funded cash infusion.
You think it'll happen again any time soon?

LSU still has a more talented roster than Ole Miss regardless.
I also think Kiffin has a good enough track record in the portal to keep the money flowing.

What a lazy, vague generalization that has no basis in reality. This is called you being in your feelings. If Kiffin (for the love of god, start spelling the man’s name right) is given a choice between LSU and Ole Miss, he’s going to LSU.

Nice copy/paste.

High school recruiting isn’t where it’s at because roughly half of every class will wash out. LSU signing better high school classes than Ole Miss isn’t nearly as significant as it once was. Kiffin and the coaches who are succeeding knew this and invested heavily in the portal early on. Not BK.

The only things, I think, that would stop him is either a personal issue like his kids not wanting to move, or if he felt like he wouldn't get enough buy in from the administration and boosters.

All of the best teams are still recruiting good high school classes, you can't build a team entirely through transfers.
Even Lane has realized this.

Man, frick you with that assessment once you go back to fricking Oxford then

Not to mention job security Ole Miss can win eight or nine games a year beat LSU and or beat Mississippi State and he can stay there as long as he wants to

im not torlling. i genuinely believe lsu fans are spoiled and delusional, and im doing my part to reel you all in.
LSU doesnt have a super recruiting advantage anymore.
Success at LSU for football got exponentially more difficult once NIL went hot.
