No, if you read the entire article you'd know what I am referring to, Jimbo fell to the wayside, we pursued Herman. Read the fricking article you link Aggie

Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher was reportedly LSU’s top choice to become the football program’s next head coach, but on Thursday night, it was reported that Fisher had decided to stay put in Tallahassee. It was likely going to take a small fortune to get Fisher to leave a more-than-comfortable situation with the Seminoles, but in the end, Fisher and LSU couldn’t come to terms.

According to a report from NOLA.com, the two parties had negotiated throughout the week, with LSU initially offering $6 million per year. After going back and forth, the university reportedly pushed its offer as high as $6.8 million per year. For context, that would make Fisher the third-highest paid coach in the country, behind only Jim Harbaugh and Nick Saban. End the end, though, Fisher decided to stay in Tallahassee.

What the frick are you on about? Jimbo turned LSU down, plain and simple. LSU "pivoted" because they didn't have a choice. I can't wait to bump this post when y'all hire aranda or Tucker.

You didn't read the article you just tried to call someone out for not reading. Talk about dumb.

I bet if I looked through your post history you've talked shite about how much A&M is paying him. Yet all the sudden you're ok with broke arse LSU paying him more! You swamp tards are so desperate it's pitiful.

It's funny how you Aggies think LSU fans think about y'all, like y'all do us, we don't give a flying frick about any of you and I've never once mentioned y'all's sorry arse fricking program in my 8 years on here, it's abundantly clear you fricking flamers are starting to panic, and you should be. You queers can continue to insult our intelligence, I honestly don't give a shite. One way or the other, we will always be the superior football program. Go frick yourself.

Not agreeing to terms of a contract, because of an incompetent AD, which is what happened in the second instance, and “turning LSU down, plain and simple” are two totally different things.

In the first instance, the Governor and the system president overrode the deal the previous AD and Jimbo agreed to. You obviously don’t understand what “turned it down plain and simple” means.

ETA: your fear of losing Jimbo is quite apparent.

Not really. It was basically Alleva throwing a hissy fit because Sexton wanted way more money then he did in 2015 (which should have been expected). Alleva thought he was negotiating from a position of strength because he thought Herman was ready to jump. Alleva didn't understand Armstrong was double dealing to get Herman the Texas job. Alleva was freaking amateur hour.

….”But LSU shifted its focus to Houston's Tom Herman midday Wednesday after reaching an impasse with Fisher and his representatives”.

“Impasse”, Aggie, is an extremely polite way of describing Jimbos dealings with the previous LSU administration. More along the lines of “Fishers representatives realized they were dealing with total and utter incompetence, amateurism and cronyism”.

See Joe Alleva, King Alexander, Les Miles and the whole rotten bunch. Jimbo didn’t trust them, and rightly so.

Unfortunately for you Ag, today things are much different. Night and day really. Be prepared, be forewarned…

Woodward has never stolen a coach without a substantially higher offer than the presiding school. He didn’t have the highest offer in this negotiation, which means he was really leaning on friendship or jimbo really loving his old neighborhood 15 years ago.

Yep, clearly that wasn’t enough. Guy has basically set up his whole life in college station and surrounding areas. It was going to be an incredibly tall order for Woodward and I get why he tried as it’s really only 1 of 5 truly splash hires out there but they can stay friends at different schools.

That’s the key statement. Is it totally unprecedented that a person would dislike where he/she works and lives to such a degree that no amount of money would sway them to stay? It’s not. We’ve heard reports from credible people that this could possibly be the case in this instance.

Your AD has been turned down two times this season. I know that as fact already. If he goes back for more it’s more an indictment of how your search is going.
