Why would a top tier coach announce

while they’re still in the “hunt” for conference and or CFP titles. If we announce before the big dogs are through then I think we’ll all be disappointed with the hire. Announcing now would totally demoralize their current team..#patience

Because they won’t… anything in the works with anyone worth a shite, would strictly be taking place through back channels.

They won't. This could likely go through late December, depending on whether a prospective HC is involved with a playoff scenario.
