He's a good coach but no. It also doesn't help that he has a bad name (same with Fedora) and he's fugly.

These are all well thought through arguments. Thanks

Nothing you have said in this thread has been "well thought out". LSU will hire someone who conducts himself with class and professionalism. Mike Leach does not fit the bill.

Leach is a good coach and he would definitely be entertaining like in the same, but completely opposite manner of Miles. However, I think the demands of the SEC would eat him alive. It would almost be like Spurrier at South Carolina. If you got him the players he could really win some games. However, I don't think Leach is a 100% football die hard. He's likes to weird out in the Keys when he can. The fanbase demands too much of the HC here for him to enjoy his life.

Finally, a reasoned response. Thanks. That may well be. He is a different duck in some ways for sure.

When he was at Texas Tech he had some running backs like Taurean Henderson and Ricky A Williams who were pretty good. They also were good at being receivers out of the backfield.

lot of what Leach does is works on the short swing passes that operate more like long hand offs than anything else. He's a good coach and has a keen offensive mind and has proven it not only at Texas Tech, but now at Washington State. He takes nobodys and turns them into somebody

He is different for sure, but I think he could handle the SEC. The question is, could the SEC and Sankey and by extension even the Alabama Mafia put up with Leach? He's a super smart guy....JD from Pepperdine (no easy feat) and a Master's in something and he has a mouth to match.

Personally, if you are looking for a guy who could cause fits for Saban and Alabama, Leach would be your guy. You can't read him. Having him along with Aranda .... interesting if not tantalizing prospect. His offenses always have 3500+ passers

Yep. Was at the game. Tim Couch chewed us up and spit us out all game...of course we had a "drop linebacker" at the time and Lou Tepper as a DC

His defenses suck. There's a reason the air raid has been a dud in the SEC.

That response made no sense. OK, his defenses suck, what does that have to do with the offense?

Two different sentences.

1. His defenses suck
2. The Air Raid does not work in the SEC for a sustained period

Do I need I spell it out for you any clearer?
