Why is Jeff Tedford in the running for big jobs

He's done a decent job of taking a very bad program and turning it into a winning one. As long as he has tree-sitters and really shitty facilities, he'll struggle to get the top notch athletes, but he'll pretty consistently turn out good-to-very good teams, just not great ones. Compared to what Cal was turning out before, it's light years better.

One of his downfalls is that he seems to rely on California CC or Juco's to occasionally fill needs at skill positions. He needs to build players from Freshman on to make me a true believer that he's a fantastic coach, but he's a good one.

So overall...I would give him a B.
