It has almost became a no-brainer.

I could have told you that 9 months ago.

I don't think it will work, but anything has to be better than JLS, right?

Are ya'll going to give him 3 or 4 years to build it his way?

...anything is better than jls is a definite no-brainer.

...i think for arkansas to have a successful football future in the ultra-competitive SEC, a solid 5 year contract of 3 million a year plus for whoever they hire is a must, combined with some patience. otherwise, they will be spinning their wheels in the mud.

if you go read the auburn board you'll find out that they seem to be, as a whole, a lot more enamored with gus than hog fans. perhaps you should try your schtick with them, they're gonna be looking for a coach too.

..i can see that possibility too. one thing for sure, a major FBS program will eventually hire gus, and if history is an indicator, that program will find success with gus.

I completely agree but Gus accepted the job knowing the same thing, how is he purely innocent? He used the kids to further his career just like HDN used him.

I seriously don't think Gus was doing anything other than looking at it as a career opportunity. I've never heard him say anything negative about Hootie or anyone else for that matter and I don't think he is a selfish person.

I don't have anything against Gus but a lot of fans don't like him for one reason or another. I don't think it would turn out well for him if he took the job. If I was him, I wouldn't even consider it. I think he would be a lot happier staying at ASU for a while or going somewhere other than Arkansas.

..so how many state championships has springdale won other than Gus'? and i don't remember them ever finishing placed in the national high school polls, much less being voted second.

Jarell Williams had Springdale recognized as a powerhouse for 30 something years. He won a couple titles. There were no asshats ranking hs teams nationally in the 70's, 80's. If there were a couple of guys doing they assuredly never saw a single Arkansas HS game.

Springdale was a Cush job, one of the knocks on Gus is he's never had a talent deficit and there's been recruiting issues at every stop he's ever been at.

Must not haved watched the USC game where we ran the HUNH and ended up abandoning it during the first half because we couldn't move the ball.

C-USA and the Sun Belt are not the SEC either.

Yep nobody runs that hurry up gimmicky shite offense anywhere above mid majors.

...this is EXACTLY why my first sentence to begin this thread in the opening post was, "it is Gus' job to turn down."

No it's not. There's no less than 15 other candidates that would be more likely to get an offer.

Would you like for me to list them?

Gus can't turn down a job that he won't be offered. Gus won't be the next Hogs coach.

only someone not in Arkansas would post this bull shite.

there is a better chance of Chizik coaching bama next year than it is for Gus to be the arkansas coach. it's not happening.

...i am aware of the potential coaches that are being discussed in fan circles. gus is one of those names.

some of those names have some high priced buyouts too. while 3 million plus is a feasible, it is still 3 million plus.

what makes patterson or gundy so much more attractive than gus? i don't see it i guess. maybe you can explain it to me..
