He's got it made there.

Yes. Chip has been such a failure as a college coach.

Chris Petersen

There's reliable info that Texas has reached out to him this year a couple times and he's said no each time.

We did the same thing with Shaw in 2013 prior to hiring Strong. Truth be told, Shaw was the first choice of the only person who mattered in that decision (Powers). Unfortunately, we didn't get him because I think he's a pretty good coach. He would have had to remake the roster, just as Strong has done (tried), but we wouldn't see the WTF game management decisions (or WTF defensive strategy decisions...or WTF special teams play...I could go on).

If Chip Kelly were our coach, all you'd see is tiny fast players get pushed around. No matter how successful he was at Oregon, his brand of football wouldn't work against the SEC. He tried to bring it to the NFL and look what's happened. I'm not saying the SEC is the NFL but I think the result would only be slightly better. And correct me if I'm wrong but I've heard several people say that he doesn't like recruiting. If he were the coach I think we'd have to get used to 7-5 seasons on a yearly basis. I don't think he'd be a complete disaster, but he'd be a disappointment and a lot of people would want him fired by year 3.
