Why do we want Dewayne Walker as DC?

It seems that the general consensus is that Dewayne Walker from UCLA would be amongst the board's Top Choices for DC next year. I'm not saying he shouldn't be, I just don't know much about him, so I don't want to pass judgment either way.

Can someone please explain (or link to something that explains) his resume, past success, or whatever it is that makes him so desirable to us? All I know about him is that he coaches at UCLA right now, and that they blow. I've also heard he is a hard-arse, and I know he's looking for a HC gig soon.

Just looking for an explanation as to why he's so desirable.

TIA

You mean the one that does very little to answer the questions I posed, other than say "He's a great coach"?

Having found his resume, I don't see anything overly impressive on it (as far as job titles). However, I don't know how he performed in those roles.

That's what I'm looking for. Not "he's a great coach" statements coming from people who haven't got any more of a clue than I do.

you posed the exact same question and you expect different results?

He runs the style of D most here have been asking for. He's well respected among coaches and has done well with not much to work with at UCLA.

Walker's fielded several quality defenses with little to no real talent at UCLA.

Plus it will make Charles Barkley happy.

at leasst Chavis and Rhoades have had nationally ranked top 10 total defenses. Walker has never had a highly ranked defense as DC. Chavis has a proven record in the toughest conference in the land w/ top 5 Defenses. I'm not overly impressed w/ Walker based on what I read on paper. Doesn't mean he wouldn't be a great coach.
