If he knew he was going to stay and had a few sources of players claming he was going to stay. Why couldn't he just come out and say without a doubt he will be back year? I have my own idea but I want your opinion. When the Dallas newsreporter asked if he was coming back and he had the long pause and said he loved it here. I just wish he would come out and say I'm 100 percent lsu.

He didn't want to lose any power. He wanted to go into the room with enough power to get a better contract from LSU. He knew he wasn't leaving, but why not make things better?

I get the feeling he was truly torn about whether to go back and try to ressurect Michigan and also didn't want to just blatantly shun Um.He wanted to show his alma mater some respect.Just my opinion.Who knows besides Miles and those close to him.

I am guessing at that point he had not made a decision. I think last night he met with Brandon and then was given the night to think it over and made the decision to stay.. He did not say he was coming back before that because he wasn't sure and he did not want to lie to the LSU fans

Because he wanted to screw with Alleva.

Oh, make no mistake, he's 100% LSU when he's contractually guaranteed to be here 3 years from now, irrespective of how many games he loses.

Yeah I don't know why you're wondering this. It was about leverage. That's why he couldn't say it.

The man's a poker player. He wasn't going to show his hand till it was over.

Leverage and spite. If you got fricked with like we fricked with Les the last few seasons, you'd be noncomittal too.

Good. I like when he coaches pissed off. If we fans have to piss him off to get that fire and competitiveness out of him on gamedays, then we need to boo more.

Hes been wanting changes to the contract and this was the perfect opportunity. I had a feeling this is what he was doing and he played it magnificently. Well played Lesticles.... well played

makes sense

I also agree that he was helping Brandon save face with the portion of the fanbase that wants him

Because he doesn't owe it to the neurotic fanbase to salve there boo boos and remove all of their fears.
