This may have been one of the worst “I heard” threads ever on this site. Bill Clark was never considered. Napier might have been, but Auburn’s AD wanted Harsin. The forcing assistants on the coach is just silly because Harsin got to pick who he wanted. He only retained one. I know why Auburn’s President wrote such a harsh letter about unhired coaches (specifically Clark) making stuff up. I do believe Napier is a good coach, but Auburn’s AD got who he wanted.

Since 2003 I've asked Chicken to create a children's board for posters like you.

Listen, try and concentrate, Napier was offered both the Auburn job and South Carolina job, both schools wanted control over all coaches hired due to Napier's relatively young age for a Power 5 hire.

We get it you don't like him. But really you should stop making shite up and go do your home work.

Auburn isn’t a great job despite their off and on success. Recruiting in state is stressful because of Bama. Until Bama isn’t Bama anymore Auburn won’t take that next step. They have had 2 great teams since Saban got there and failed at sustaining it each time afterwards.

Oh and mask mandates.
