Aranda just hitched his wagon to O, so your post is erroneous on all accounts.

Believe it or not, coaches aren't lining up to be part of his staff. For the record, I'm not a fan of Kiffin.

You mean like Aranda? You seem very informed. :|

Weren't people complaining because we didn't wait to see what Herman was going to do?

No. People complained because we made absolutely no real attempt at Herman whatsoever and allowed ourselves to be cucked by Texas. Afterwards, we didn't bother conducting a coaching search.

What I'm complaining about regarding Kiffin, is that we're his fall back option and we're allowing all the top OCs to get snatched up here and there while we're finga'poppin each otha's essholes.

Also, Herman >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Kiffin

"We" aren't doing anything.

Rantards pissed about hiring HC too fast

Rantards pissed about not hiring OC fast enough.

Good times on TD.

Ridiculous to let pride and emotion influence our top decision making

Pathetic really

Because that is who O wants. I just hope it doesn't bite him in the arse when the dust settles. I had settled in on the hire, but now he really has me worried with QB recruitment and seemingly waiting around for Kiffin. It's not a good look.

You must have been smart enough to avoid the Rant the days following the O hire.

We're putting our eggs in the Kiffin basket, meanwhile he's not shy about wanting a HC gig. We're basically his fall back option. Even if we got him, he'd be here a year and we're in the same boat next year.

You are correct about the fact that if we hire Kiffin there is probably a good possibility that he will be looking for a HC job next year especially if he is successful at LSU. That being said I personally feel that he is the perfect hire in that if anyone knows how to beat Bama he does. His offenses go up against Saban's defenses every single day in practice and he knows where the weakness are and who to pick on and how to scheme to beat that defense. Plus if LSU is successful with Kiffin then the reality is we will be able to hire just about any OC we want. So as much as I would hope Kiffin would stay for at least 2 years I don't if he is successful and leaves after a year while not ideal to me it is ok giving what we can learn from him.

Yea, so many HC interviews were conducted. That's why we ended up with one of the most qualified head coaches in history and we're definitely not being laughed at by other SEC fan bases. We totally conducted interviews.

But posting on tRant gives you this divine knowledge of how to run a program. You've convinced me. O is clueless and the average ranter could do better.

Ah, the old "appeal to accomplishment" fallacy, an attempt to stifle my argument without actually refuting what I said.

I don't have to have been in his position to identify a flaw in his decision making process. I can simply look at the way successful coaches conduct business and see the O is going about it the wrong way.

And it's not a huge leap to believe that someone that made numerous mistakes the last time he had a full time gig would continue to make mistakes. Don't know what you O supporters see in this guy that makes you think he's all of sudden going to magically turn into someone that operates on the same level of guys like Saban and Meyer, guys that he needs to beat.

Here's an exercise, whenever he does something why don't you ask yourself "would Meyer or Saban do it this way?" If that answer is no it might be the wrong way to do it.

They have never waited to make a coordinator hire? They've never waited on an answer from their top choice before moving on to other potential candidates? They would never do so? And you know this for a fact?

Ok.

So, explain to me the benefits of waiting until our OC candidate exhausts all his avenues for a HC job, and we just sit and wait.

Meanwhile, all other qualified candidates get picked up by major programs or signed to extensions.

What's the benefits of that situation?

I've never heard Saban or Meyer make a public statement that he's waiting until a specified period of time has passed before he's making a decision on a coordinator, while the assumed #1 option is interviewing for HC positions.

It's not the waiting, it's the fact that Kiffin clearly has Coach O on hold. A coordinator, has the HC on hold. That dynamic is backwards. Saban didn't wait on Kiffin. Kiffin took that job the minute it was offered to him.

So is Coach O in over his head

I keep holding on to hope that our talent will continue to win for us and maybe Coach O has good networking skills
