Lets say TX keeps Strong for another year and they fire him next season instead. Who is to say Herman would not bolt LSU for TX next year if TX pursued him again. Its obvious he wants to coach at TX more than anywhere else. I hope we get Herman but really worried how this is playing out. I love Coach O as the next guy but he should not be HC. Alleva hopefully learned his lesson on making a knee jerk reaction to emotions after the debacle last year with CLM. That blew up in the face of the fans that wanted to keep him and the administration.

What are you saying? The narrative has been "Tom Herman future HC at Texas", "Texas has backdoor agreement w/ Herman".

Herman has been 100% Texas from last season....but he never said it himself, and there was never anything that directly connected him to being a strong Texas guy.

It is? Do you have any direct evidence of this?

Because he wouldn't come to LSU he'd just stay in Houston if that were the case.

He could but it would be at a very high buyout, like $20m+

I want a coach in demand. Why settle without even trying.

LSU is awesome. You have top facilities, they will pay for your as stands to stay and the recruiting base in Louisiana is second to none considering talent and no instare competition for players. Maybe a coach could come in here thinking about another job but I don't think it would take king for them to fall in love with it. I believe in LSU enough to think it would be hard for anyone to come here and be willing to leave. But that's just me.

I want a coach who is so good that every NFL team and major college program will offer him the bank to bolt. Better than a guy like Ferentz or Miles who you can't get rid of but isn't making you better.

Because Texas is a shithole program that has a cancer eating it up from the inside out. Nobody in their right mind wants to deal with their boosters and the bullshite they bring with them. Texas, much like Notre Dame is a has been, washed up, shite program.

What's funny is this is an age old concern among the LSU fan base. Sad that so many are so insecure and sell the program short.
Archer to Miami
Hallman to Bama
DiNardo to Notre Dame
Miles to Michigan
