Who is to blame???

If Les didn't want to leave, he would have told Michigan back in Sept. or Oct. to stick it. But he never told them no. If LSU wanted Les so badly, even with no championships, they could have done that in Sept. or Oct.
But why does all of this blow up now??? Why did we have to hear this crap while making a run for a national title? Why did we have to hear this crap while competing for an SEC title?? So who's to blame, Les or LSU administration?
They can't deny it, this has been a huge distraction.

Seriously, one more time: It's called leverage. If he came out either way he's screwed. It's a crappy game but you have to play it so you get what you're worth.

Mich might not have discussed $$ figures back then. But then again has he actually signed the extension. Even if he signs and UM comes back next week with new figures who knows if he'll stay or change his mind

Miles never talked to Michigan. How can you tell somebody you're not interested, when neither side was talking? Michigan JUST got permission from LSU to talk to Miles a few days ago.

Fans and media only jump to conclusions where there is smoke. If Les was not going to listen to Michigan, he would have told them no long ago. If LSU waited until now to try and keep him, why?? He didn't get to the NC. We probably won't win today? He had 0 championships then, and he has 0 championships now. Why the wait??

Many are to blame, and yet in the scheme of how life works, no one is to blame....
You can't blame Miles for at least "wanting to know" how interested Michigan was in him....and, if they'd not been so coy with the early retirement from Carr and the BS inside Michigan's own camp as to whether or not they really wanted him....then, yes Miles might be gone already.
That being said, LSU fans have not been totally endearing to Miles either....if I were Miles, I'd f***ing leave a door open for discussion, too. It's not like he's had tremendous job security at LSU, either.....
Still putting up with the Saban "shadow", and all the BS about having to win a NC to prove himself as a good coach.......
The only thing Miles has done wrong is prove himself as a winner, and therefore a "hot commodity" in spite of the naysayers.

And I'm someone who was pretty neutral about him leaving. It wouldn't have made me mad, but I wouldn't have been elated either.

Every single coach has this in some sense, if they win they get paid more. Les is 32-6 in 3 years, that's pretty damn good. I would say that is above my own expectations when we hired him and I'm sure it's the same for everyone else. You can't win a championship every year, it's just not possible anymore.

I won't argue with that. But his dream was Michigan, I wonder how it fell apart.

We sound similar Freauxzen on our view on Miles. I just hate that everyone involved looks like a$$clowns today.

Despite the fact an agreement was reached i find it hard to believe this thing is over. only les miles knows whats going to happen.

That's true, but it's what happens in this sort of technically inclined society. The speed of information is much quicker, people can gather and spread more information. Look at how recruiting has changed in only 8 years time or so. It's a circus, no doubt.

True, but if that presser was just a smokescreen, then I can't defend Les' actions anymore.
