This would be the best hire of all. He would be a great fit at Ole Miss and would help them break the color barrier. I think this guy will be a great one. He seems to have that "it" factor that you need to be successful as a head coach.

Just to note, since their transition to the FBS in 2008 and through the fourth week of this season, Western Kentucky was 4-36. Since that time, they are 7-1 with their one loss to LSU in Baton Rouge. They did not back down in that game and came to play. Plus, when he was at Stanford with Jim Harbaugh, he recruited Florida, Georgia and Kentucky.

I like Willie Taggart.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure that even now, Ole Miss is ready for a black head coach.

I wish Tulane would offer him, but I haven't even heard him mentioned in their search.

It's going to take a good job to get Willie Taggart away from WKU. He's an alum and they love the shite out of him.

Ah-ha, forgot about that. Very true. He is not leaving unless it is a BCS-AQ gig.

Popular song from Metallica's self-titled fifth album.

What does this have to do with this thread? Its commonly referred to as "The Black Album."

Willie is a great person. At the sunbelt media days this year, they asked all the football coaches from the sunbelt who they thought would win the conference. Every single coach picked FIU except Willie. He said from the beggining of this season that WKU would win the sunbelt. If they would have not lost 26-22 to Arkansas State they would have. WKU started out 0-4 with a terrible loss to Indiana State. After the double overtime win against Middle Tennessee State they never looked back and won every game except the LSU game. It was 14-7 at halftime during the LSU game. He's a hell of a coach.

Ole Miss has to break the color barrier or perception of racism if they ever want to win an SEC or National Cahmpionship. They should hire Taggart or the best black coach they can and support him. It's their only hope. They are doomed by their owe flawed traditions which some are trying to remove.

Willie Taggart will be a excellent coach at a big program. But I do think that Ole Miss isn't ready for a black coach.

REALLY??? are you serious with this statement. you think this is what is holding Ole Miss back?

again, really? They should hire the best coach they can, regardless of color, religion, or national origin.

Shite like this is a problem. I would hate to know that someone hired or not hired me because of what I looked like, what church I went too, or whatever.

This is the type of attitude that will continue to keep prejudice alive.
