He should have a head coaching job after this season.

Stays. He will take over for Mac in a year or two.

3. Tennessee

My order of probabilities.

perception is a strange thing. I think he'll be a good HC, but his defense hasn't set the world on fire this year.

Is Bobby Johnson not a factor in the Clemson job?

I don't think UT wants Muschamp.

He's not HC material just yet. IMHO 3 years away from being ready.

Why?? b/c he is still living off what Saban did for him??

IMO I don't think he is ready, just like Pelini (sp)

Because he is proving himself to be capable of handling a coordinators position and he can recruit. I am not saying he will get a SEC or BIG XII job, but many believe he will get a head coaching position after this season and I agree.

He won’t hang around Texas waiting for Mac to retire.

I think he is the same as Pelini, should have stayed as a DC..........for now.

No, but their defense was worse than our's last year.

They are still bad with pass defense but....

I think the only top team Texas didn't hold to less yards and less points than they'd be averaging is TT.

I forgot what each team was averaging in points and yards on offense but....

Oklahoma is averaging 538 yards/game and 49 points/game. Texas held them to 435 yards and 35 ponts.

Missouri is averaging 514 yards/game and 45 points/game. Texas held them to 318 yards and 31 points, many coming in the second half with the game in hand.

OSU is averaging 512 yards/game and 45 points/game. Texas held them to 416 yards and 24 points.

TT is averaging 559 yards/game and 47 points/game. Texas gave up 579 points but held them to 39 points(6-7 came off a pick 6 and a safety).

Those averages weren't significantly more or less, from what I recall, before this weekend.

I don't think he'll be around long enough to see this defense be an elite unit.

So, you're telling me that when offered an opportunity to coach a program like Nebraska which would given him more than a doubled salary, a longer contract, and better severance pay, that he should have passed on it?

From any Asst Coordinator viewpoint
....if the job is offered, take it,
unless you do not want it, like it,
or is not a win-win situation.

However, perception is sometimes better than reality.
I think Pellini's D and Muschamp's D are both overrated although I like the intensity.
Texas is still allowing a lot of points,
just because they are winning does not mean it is their D.
and Pellini's D was getting weaker and weaker...starting from last year.
I wish both of them well.
Pellini for the promotion he got,
Muschamp for the one he is likely to get.
(he makes around 400,000 yr)
