So he says the only thing that would cover Miles' arse in the Crowton fiasco? Really?
Kind of funny how belowpar's updates always painted a defense for Miles.
"Miles was willing to get rid of Crowton, but the AD and TAF said they won't let him because they won't pay the buyout."
How freaking convenient
So, maybe he likes Miles and leans towards things that favor Miles. Still doesn't change the fact that he has good info.

belowpar is not in the athletic dept per say. However there are others on this site who work in the athletic department that post.
If they are on this site posting about internal things they should be run out of the department also. If they just post and give no "inside scoops" etc then that is fine. Once you begin working for the department, you know that you shouldnt give out info.

The Chavis hire wasn't inside info. Anyone with a brain could put 2 and 2 together to figure he was going to be hired.
Again, I am not against BelowPar and appreciate his insights, but to act like he doesn't have an agenda when he comes on here is hilarious.

Okay, then. I would assume you are saying this as a blanket statement and not towards me. I don't think BP is rock solid with no agenda. But he is someone who obviously has some inside sources, so I like to hear what he has to say. Hell, even Chicken vouches for the guy as a solid source.

It was a general statement, and didn't mean for it to come as directed specifically at you.
Like I said, I also have interest in his thoughts, but to me he obviously has an agenda and so I temper my trusting of what he says.
His argument that the ADs wouldn't pay the buyout made absolutely no sense. LSU lost more money in the Arky game than his salary because they lost with bad playcalling/coaching.

Do you know even how many DC's were supposed to be our next DC. . .per this board?

I knew how many people were screaming for, but there was ever 2 real candidates back then and we were in a bidding war of sorts with Clemson for Chavis.
There were two legit coaches that were discussed:
Walker from UCLA and Chavis.
He didn't give groundbreaking news. That was my point.

True, but I think the bigger piece here was that Miles had just gone to the Board to push for a raise and extension. Now, one year later he wanted him fired. Doesn't seem that far out of line for them to say, he's your guy, you got him more money, so now you either eat the buyout or keep him.

And if true, it proves Les cared more about his money than this team. I think a coach making $3.75 Million/year should've been willing to make that minimal sacrifice for the better of the team.
It's a large reason I have little respect for Miles. He's not out for what's best for LSU. He's out for what's best for Les, whether people want to admit it or not.

Congratulations. This is the worst post I've ever read on this board. Miles sacrificed a shot at his alma mater for our championship season. And remember that there was a Crowton buyout. Word is that the LSU admins were not willing to pay it. Get your shite straight and stop flaming.

Congratulations. You are ASSUMING he was even offered. We have absolutely no proof of that other than Herbstreit's report that was obviously not true.
Again, I said IF TRUE, he cared more about money and HE is the one who pushed for 3 year contracts for all his assistants. He screwed up and should've been willing to bite the bullet IF TRUE.
I said that I have no belief that he had any intention of firing Crowton and that was BS put out there to cover Miles' arse.

I don't really respect Miles for other reasons. A large part of that is his loyalty to a fault and his hubris at times.
That doesn't mean I think he's a bad coach or a bad human being. I think he's a good guy, but when you are a head coach, you have to make tough decisions. He has to be willing to stop giving a shite for underpeorfmers' feelings over that of the success of his program.
My point is if he isn't willing to eat $900,000 or even $470,000 for the buyout for a coach he hand picked and is failing miserably, then its on him. He is the one who pushed for their long contracts.

Saying "if true" and then killing a guy is wreckless, not to mention juvenile.
And your "belief" about Miles wanting to get rid of Crowton has no bearing on the actual facts.

quote:not that big of a jump if you are guilty of having the same "agenda" he's bitching about. assume every rumor that makes miles look bad is true and every one that doesn't is false.

I'll find out what my source knows. I'm not one to talk about "sources" but this one is about as close to knowing anything about Crowton as you could get.
And he was correct last year about the Crowton situation.
Will be back if I find anything out.

Bro, objectively speaking, you have started two of the worst threads I've seen in a long time on the rant. And Mafia is treading on thin ice with the "if true" bullshite. So if I'm stupid police, then send me my effing badge.
