Correct. This is what has been driving me crazy about all the fans clamoring to replace Miles. We got lucky twice, our AD is due for a frick up.

Nebraska has not been good for quite some time and are glad they're winning again.

are shocked that most LSU fans don't want him
compared to Saban and then Miles, Pelini isn't going to maintain that kind of success imo.

I agree, overdramatic. But, I also concur, he is settling, a concession, due to familairity, and the belief that LSU's Ath Dept can heavy-hand some staff upon him, while saving face by landing a namebrand school's HC.

BP isn't in Miles nor Saban's recruiting stratosphere. And isn't on par with Saban nor Petrino's X&O HC'ing. Etc..

NOT A BAD HIRE..BUT FAR LESS THAN IDEAL.

The ignorant shite about him getting a DWI. Care to dig me up a Police Report on Bo and DWI history?

What does that even have to do with coaching?

overdramatize much?

I know you love him, TigerJeff, but honestly we disagree on this. I believe that he would destroy LSU football.

Dude, it was a joke, albeit a joke based on the fact that you never know what stunt(s) Pelini is going to pull on or off the field. Anyone who has followed Pelini's career knows this to be true.

And embarassment (or lack therof) on or off the field is certainly a component of being a successful head coach.

Not sure I know anyone in Nebraska named Pellini.

Make no mistake, just because Neb was a near McCoy and Mack brainfart away from a Big-12 crown last year, on the back of a Donkey Kong led D..

Nebraska Football is still not out of the woods, let alone back to prominence, despite the recruiting picking back up out of state.

They are nowhere close to beating Tex and OU ON THE REG..THUS DR TOM AND CO BOLTING FOR THE BIG-10..running with the slow pasty ones.

Don't you think any school is going to struggle when they don't have a solid quarterback?

Pelini's first year... Joe Ganz. His one and only year under Pelini. No division title or anything, but 9-4 with a New Years Day Bowl game was a hell of a turn around from a 5-7 embarassment.

Pelini's second year... Zac Lee. Not recruited by Bo and his staff. Not the kind of QB that Pelini needs for the offense he wants to run. Won a division title, 1 BS second away from a Conference Title, and a pretty impressive Holiday Bowl win.

Pelini's third year... Taylor Martinez. Finally a quarterback that was actually recruited by Bo and his staff, completely tore shite up until he got injured late in the 2nd quarter vs Mizzou. shite went downhill from there. Still won a division title. Obv we know what happened with the bowl game. Not to mention Martinez was only a freshman.

My point is, I would give any coach, esspecially a defensive minded coach like Pelini, at least a couple years with the same quarterback to get the system rolling. No kidding they struggled to end this season, but it would be foolish to think that things would've turned out the same way if Martinez was never injured.

Just my opinion. Feel free to agree or disagree.

If Coach Miles leaves LSU, it would be smart of the powers that be at LSU to look a little more first before stopping at Mr. Pelini's doorstep with a contract.

I don't think there are many people that argue with the fact that Pelini is a solid football coach. He is.

But there's a reason that Pelini would be interested in the LSU coaching job, and that reason is because he's having a few problems with the PTB at Nebraska right now, problems that have nothing to do with his Xs and Os. And given Pelini's personal nature, he's very likely to run into those same issues at any program he is the head coach for.

He's a hot head. We all know this. Hell, it's one of the reasons many of us loved him as DC. But many of us don't want a hot-head as the head man leading a Top5 program into the future.

If LSU hires Pelini, I'll be very disappointed. Could we do worse than Pelini? Certainly. But I just think this job is too big for him. He's not the right man for LSU IMO.

I don't disagree with those assertions, but the Big-12 North is possibly the weakest BCS Conference division sans the Big East. Since KSU's slide, it is Neb's birthright as long as they have even a moderate to mediocre team, as Mo's "rise" is as much a myth as mirage..they are always soft in a big moneygame.
