No several of them had to do with being a good head coach and you acknowledged as much. Many of JDR's qualities will give him an advantage in recruiting, dealing with high school coaches and being the face of the program/school.

I never mentioned his daughter, I said he has family ties to the school and area. His wife is from here, her entire family lives here now, JDR played in the state as a NFL player, he also oached in the state as a NFL coach. He has spent virtually his entire coaching career in the south. That helps with his fit here, which is what you originally asked.

As for appearance it helps. Good looking people on average make more money, are more successful and are more confindent than ugly/fat people. People want to be around good looking people more than ugly people.

Why could Weiss never get a NFL job? Why did it take so long for Ralph Friedgen and Mangino to get jobs (and when they did it was at bottem feeder programs)?

Definitely have never questioned Jack Del Rio's coaching ability

So if you acknowledge he is a good coach what is the problem?

Do you honestly think recruiting and speaking to a few boaster groups is that hard?
