Name the last above average QB Jimbo has had to run his offense.

please explain to me how jimbo's offense hasn't adapted to "modern football" i dont think it will be jimbo, i just want someone to explain this talking point
His best offense ever was his national championship year they ranked 2nd in total offense
His avg total offensive ranking as head coach (fsu and Texas am) is: 36
Les miles at lsu total offense avg during his tenure was 42 to put that in perspective...
That doesn't scream some offensive genius to me.
Riley, Day, Dykes, Kiffin, Moorhead those guys that run a modern spread are consistent top 10 offenses year in year out.
Is Jimbo a good coach? Yes without question.
But he needs help
Saban realized this and went and got Kiffin and sark it's called adapting and doing everything you can to adjust to how the game is being played today.

not my question. my question was what about the offense isn't "modern"? so the question is about schematics, not rankings.

Jimbo can identify and develop the QB position.
Miles never had a QB that he signed out of high school become a legitimate SEC caliber QB. The closest one would be Mett, and he signed and started at GA, then transferred
I think Jimbo has had 4 QBs that he has signed out of high school and worked with in some capacity that have won NCs
The problem is that Jimbo hit on a bunch of guys pre 2012 and none since.

It was pretty damn good for several years Beckham, Landry, countless good teams both sides of the ball. If SW would have been AD instead of alleva Les might have been more apt to change
