what if we are talking about the wrong stoops? what about Bob?

I know we have talked about Bob Stoops but here is another quick rundown
not coaching, could step in immediately after TAMU, definitely a big time SW splash hire in the national media
young 61, been doing the Fox CFB show and maybe he caught the CFB coaching bug again after retiring in 2017
spent a season in the XFL as a lark in 2020 going 2-3
has the DC and HC Championship pedigree with the modern offense blend, 2008 OU set the modern NCAA record of averaging 51pts per game for a season
one of the greatest HC recruiters of all time
.798 winning percentage, all time wins leader in OU history, 2021 CFB Hall of Fame Inductee
coaching pedigree includes Hayden Fry, Bill Snyder, Steve Spurrier
personable guy that would own LA in recruiting, fundraising, image
coached two heisman winners at OU, only man in the BCS era to have won the Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, and Sugar Bowl.

good question, I dont know
I guess he isnt the guy?
ETA only thing I can think of is if he is the guy, maybe SW wants to let CEO finish it out and the season ends before they move onto the next phase?
not overshadow what is left of the season?

I would rather Petersen, but I also don’t think Stoops is the guy. I still have hope it’s Riley. OU would’ve announced a raise and extension by now.
