Stoops probably got a few lol's from SEC fans when OU hired him.
No one has any clue how Smart will do as a HC, but we know EXACTLY how Sherman does when he has a stacked team ranked in the preseason top 10.
A&M is a good enough program to not have to hire a coordinator. They need to go with a guy who has shown he can win as a head coach. Sumlin would be a terrific hire. Hudspeth and Fedora are out there. Smart wouldnt be terrible but at the same time a program with the history and potential of A&M should let a guy like that prove himself out from Sabans wing first. Heck yall might could look into Briles or Patterson. A&M is a good hire from being a consistant top 15 team if not higher. Yall dont want to screw this up when yall have perfect timing to get a new start in the SEC.

Not just any coordinator. He is the best on the market right now. Him or Peterson. Kirby has the highest ceiling I think and watch a program built at Bama. It takes some impressive effort to lose at a large Texas university that is now the only SEC school in Texas. Sherman did. Kirby can't be much worse and likely can be much better.

I was told a couple of hours ago that all the Asst. Coaches have been called back in from the recruiting roads. Expect the announcement tomorrow.
Also told major negative reaction to moving toward Sumlin and a former coach that is involved in the discussions (I assume Stallings) is touting Smart.

I've heard Dantonio has inquired... that shocks the hell out of me. With his health and having a solid MSU squad, I wouldn't think he'd leave his home area, but maybe we have are offering something worthwhile.

What about Manny Diaz? He turned around Miss State D in one year and now has the #1 D in big 12 with texas.

Completely agree. Smart is Im sure is a great coach but you cant give him a HC job based on being a DC under Saban. He needs to prove it somewhere else too.

Charlie Strong, Kirby Smart and Manny Diaz are my top three. I am not sure why so many Aggie fans are against Manny. His defense absolutely destroyed us last Thursday and it is his first year replacing a good coordinator and replacing his entire secondary. He improved the defense from last year. I am a fan

I just don't get the Staff over there.
I once got a week long ban for calling Fran a "Little Debbie Lover" and now get a 24 hour one for saying I thought the Sherman ESPN grade thread was relevant to what is happening today yet they seem to allow far worse personal insults, clear bigotry, and outright lies towards other schools and past coaches to stand all the time. Its very arbitrary.
