Let him figure out how to stop a running QB first.

Just stop. LSU needs a homerun. While nobody is ever a "sure" thing they need as sure possible of a homerun as they can get right now. I don't want to settle for a tier 3 guy. I want the guy highest on the list because he's probably high on that list for many reasons.

This was the thinking that got LSU scrambling to pay Kelly his 54 million buyout in cash today by 5pm. And Woodward whatever it owes him.

You need some luck and you need to hire Joe Brady. Keep BB, and get Ed O and Frank Wilson out there recruiting with hands full of NIL cash

Who says he does??? How would you know if he does or doesn't? What are those traits anyway?

I don’t know if he does or doesn’t. I’m not advocating hiring him or not. I’m advocating for hiring the best coach for the job, not based on their Wikipedia resume, but based on the qualities they have as a person and a coach.

People get too invested in a coaching candidate, get entrenched and get defensive. I just want a good head coach. Go back and read my post and hopefully open your mind a little.

Elko and Cignetti weren’t homeruns. Just solid football guys who still had some fire left.

Jimbo Fisher and Brian Kelly were “homeruns.”

This isn't a popular opinion with the torch and pitchfork crowd, but I think Baker is at least worth real consideration and should be interviewed. He is a near polar opposite to CBK in many ways, plenty of which we attributed a lot of Kelly's issues.

He is a young, proven defensive mind with success at multiple SEC schools. You want a fiery, energetic coach? He has that in spades. He cares for and relates to his players.

If he can handle running an entire program, which is the search committee's entire job to figure out, there is plenty of evidence to suggest he could help breathe new life into LSU football.

I'm not saying Baker should absolutely be the guy, but I am saying he should be on the list getting a legitimate chance. The list of "guaranteed" realistic potential candidates has exactly one name on it. If it isn't Kiffin, there is no sure thing.
