What school has the most access to funding and the most money to spend on football? I know a lot of fund raising goes on, but who can afford the biggest bucks on a coach?

I would say that if you include boosters, that Arkansas can do just about anything they want to if they make their mind up. There are some deep pockets in that state. When about twelve people have enough stroke to put a man in the white house you are dealing with some true players and Arkansas has them. Second would probably be a tie between BAMA and a few others.
When you get right down to it they all have the funds to do whatever they want to.

Ole Miss. (Jk)
it is hard to determine as unlike with players and alumni can just pay or buyout a coach or his contrcat or pay surplus hell his whole damn salary and every SEC school was plenty of Alumni that can do that. Its like everybody has a rich uncle(s), will he/they/she buy you a new football coach. Answer, sometimes he will sometimes he won't.
It is a measure of desire fantiacism and ability. How do you measure desire?

Arkansas has very deep pockets. DC posted a link during the preseason about SEC's facilities.

Florida wins going away.
Hell, the men's basketball and football coaches alone make a combined $7 mil a year.
That's some serious grass...

Florida. Tallying billionaires really isn't that helpful.

If you take away the original poster's "athletic" component of funding available (i.e....just plain $$$)...

Funny you should mention since the inventor died a few days ago. I read in an article on yahoo that the university had only recieved about $165 million in royalties. They sold out in the 60' or 70s. I know that's still a chunk of change, but not really when you consider that PepsiCo has probably paid MJ more than that over the last 20 yrs for endorsements.
A little off topic, but I thought it was a fun fact.

Founded by about the second-wealthiest American ever. Cornelius Vanderbilt died in January of 1877. He had an estimated net worth of $100 million, which in today's dollars is about $143 Billion. He left a mere $1 million (that he promised) to the university that now bears his name, but is in today's dollars $700 million dollars.

From just a pure athletic administration budget, Florida wins hands down, and I guess that shows in performance.
As far as doners, Alabama or Arkansas. Doesn't show so much.
