Muschamp would be an idiot to entertain the idea. It would be a step back (not down, I said back) at a stage in his career when he needs to move on to ever newer things. LSU DC, as great a job as it is, on his resume is a "been there, done that."

Which fits in with all the stories of his name being linked with many open head coaching positions, such as Georgia Tech and Southern Miss.

(He'd be a short-term hire for Southern Miss at best, while he could potentially stay at GT for a number of years, provided the pay was right.)

Totally agree. It makes absolutely no sense for him.

If he goes back and coaches LSU as a DC, I think he'll have a chance to become a head coach

I wouldn't need Muschamp bauk for the following reasons:

1. His Deep coverage scheme does not some how work (out last blown up coverage against IOWA in Capita One Bowl when saban left)

2. His schemes against short passes gives up more yardage

3. He was already at LSU.

Having said those we would be needing a DC who comes up with innovative schems to stop modern day spread offenses (Florida the BIGGEST THREAT NEXT YEAR)

Anybody agree with me?
