So Kiffin (the OC for our biggest competitor) makes it seem like he wants to be at LSU. Makes the pot sweeter for O who gets hired. Then he ends talks right after O is announced.

I was under the impression that they were going after an elite OC as per O and Alleva. Applewhite has not been able to hold an OC position without getting fired. He is not any near elite. But, he is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Could this be another Alleva cave in? Keep it consistent.

Well, Tom Mensa Herman thought enough of him that, for his first head coaching gig, HE hired applewhite to be his OC.

Did he have a dominant offense? No. It was sufficient, but not dominant. The Houston offense was an improvement over Applwhite's stints at Alabama and Texas, but how much of that improvement was due to Herman's influence? Herman can have a positive impact on any OC and can institute adjustments with the OC as needed. He doesn't need an elite, dominant OC. Oeaux doesn't quite meet that standard. According to Alleva's grand master plan( 
), Oeaux has committed to bring in a top tier OC that can handle the offensive needs by himself. Applewhite ain't near there yet.
