Video of Kragthorpe's 2010 QB Project, Son Brad.

This is what Krags was working on in 2010, developing his son, Brad. Great video of what Kragthorpe may be able to do regarding QB development. And maybe what LSU fans can expect next year...
Warning: video does include option plays...to the short side of the field. You can bet its in the playbook for 2011.

Well, remember that Krags is not coaching the team so this doesn't necessarily tell us much (if anything) about what his offense looks like. Brad was a rising star at one of the high-powered Louisville high schools (Trinity?) and I'm sure they were sorry to see him leave. If Brad learned his fundamentals from his Dad, then I agree we have cause to be excited about what Krags can do for a QB.

Its not Kragthorpe's offense, but there is no doubt that he developed his son as a QB. Quick release, good footwork, decisive...Things I hope Krag can do with JJ and Mett.

"With Steve Kragthorpe out of coaching - he resigned as an assistant at Texas A&M before the season to be with an ill family member - he gets to spend more time with his son. After watching Brad play in only five of his 15 games last year, Steve has been a regular at Holland Hall this season.
"You realize really quickly that it's fun to watch your own kid play," Steve Kragthorpe said. "I'd been watching other people's kids play for 25 years."
With his dad's schedule emptier than it has been in years, Brad Kragthorpe said he's still learning from his father.
"My dad always taught me you play quarterback with your head and your feet and your hips," Kragthorpe said."
Anyway, I thought it was a good, early look at Krags work.

He for sure knows the offense already. Whats his measureables? Looks pretty good. I like him better than lee already.

Speculation is that he might walk-on at LSU. Not considered a major Div-1 prospect. I just thought it was nice to be able to look at Krag's QB work in 2010.

I'm not saying we should offer him right now, but we I would think Kragthorpe's son is a good indicator of what he teaches QBs to do. I don't know about this kid's armstrength, but he has a quick release, throws with a high release, moves in the pocket, and never throws off his back foot.

That's a very entertaining video. I read a comment that he is not a D-1 potential talent. That sounds like an opinion to me, not necessarily a fact.

He's got the quick release, the feet, and decision-making.. but most of those throws were to his first option. I haven't seen a great showing of him going through his reads. Then again, it is high school ball so maybe I'm looking for too much.

When you're the son and grandson of former D-1 head coaches and aren't even listed in the Rivals database it usually means you are awesome.

I would have like to have seen more of that too...even at this level.
But its the way this kid has been developed that impresses me. That's what Krags taught him...let's hope there is enough time for him to work on JJ's footwork and release before Oregon.

some of those teams in the video had the size of a 1A catholic school
